Breaking Point of Divorce (Hugh and Bethan) novel Chapter 134

Chapter 134 Leaked These Photos

All Hugh needed was to give Bethan time-time to accept Megan and her son’s presence. Then everything would fall into place.

By late afternoon, Hugh drove to the hospital to pick up Bethan for their shopping trip.

In the women’s section, Bethan browsed coats for Miranda while Hugh pushed the cart, occasionally offering his opinion.

Together they looked like the perfect couple, drawing envious stares from passersby.

Bethan lifted a scarf and turned to ask his opinion, only to see him a few steps away, phone pressed to his ear.

She quietly set the scarf back down and waited.

When Hugh returned, he said matter-of-factly, “Hudson’s water gun broke. I’ll check the kids’ section for another. I’ll meet you here after.”

Bethan didn’t reply.

He didn’t ask for her input either, simply turned and

walked off.

She tilted her head back slightly, took a deep breath, and steadied herself.

The resentment gnawed inside her, but her mind stayed cold and clear.

Minutes later, she followed him into the children’s

section.

Hidden behind a display, she watched him carefully picking out toys.

Bethan took out her phone, snapped a photo, and pulled up a number from her contacts.

She sent two pictures, then made a call with her voice calm and decisive. “Before tonight, I want these photos splashed across the headlines.”

By the time Hugh returned, she was back in women’s wear, sifting through racks.

He reached past her, plucking the white down coat from her hands and replacing it with a dark red one. “Miranda just got discharged. Red will make her look healthier.”

Bethan met his eyes for a beat, then nodded. “We’ll go

with red.”

They wandered the store for over an hour and got home

past seven.

No sooner had they set down the bags than Hugh’s phone rang-Jacob.

After the call, Hugh opened the message Jacob had sent him with screenshots. His gaze shifted sharply to Bethan. “You leaked these photos to the press?”

If it had been only the mall photo, he wouldn’t be sure.

But the second was damning-it was taken the day he picked Hudson up from school.

He remembered it clearly-Bethan had just returned to the country. She had stood at a distance, phone raised, taking that shot herself.

Bethan didn’t bother denying it. “Maybe I sent it by accident. It wasn’t intentional.”

Their eyes locked. Hugh knew she was lying.

His voice dropped, each word heavy with restrained anger. “Bethan, what are you trying to do?”

She shoved her buzzing phone toward him, showing the incoming call. “Save your temper. You should be worrying about how to calm your grandfather first.”

Before Hugh could reply, the doorbell rang.

Logan, steward of Cavill Manor, stood respectfully at the entrance. “Mr. Cavill. Mrs. Cavill. Sir Cavill requests your immediate presence at the manor.”

“Let’s go.” Bethan didn’t wait for Hugh, striding out first.

On the drive, Hugh was busy fielding calls while Bethan sat beside him, detached, untouched by the storm gathering around them.

When they arrived, the car rolled to a stop in the grand Courtyard. Bethan stepped out first, Hugh following dose

behind.

He hung up the phone and caught her wrist. “Wait.”

Bethan pulled free without hesitation and turned to greet Gwen with a wave, denying him the chance to speak.

She knew all too well what he was about to say-his usual warning not to embarrass him, not to speak out of turn before the Cavill elders.

Bethan stopped in the center of the living room and politely greeted each person in turn.

Ryan’s face was stormy as he snapped at Hugh. “Do you even realize what you’ve done?”

Hugh answered evenly, his tone calm, “This was my oversight. It won’t happen again.”

Fiona let out a bitter laugh. “Don’t kid yourself. If you play with fire, you’re bound to get burned. Do you think scandals disappear just because you say you’ll ‘pay more attention’?”

Ryan’s anger boiled over. “Find me the reporter who 16:39
