Breaking Point of Divorce (Hugh and Bethan) novel Chapter 15

Chapter 15 He didn’t cheat

With that, Hugh headed to the company, while Bethan just slumped back on the bed.

Her outbursts and hysteria couldn’t stir up any emotions in Hugh, nor could they make him compromise.

Bethan felt on the verge of despair.

Hugh thought she was making a fuss and throwing a tantrum.

She’d loved him for so long, but she never expected him to be so cruel and heartless.

He’d quietly taken away even her right to lose her temper.

Around nine o’clock, Fiona and Gwen came to bring her breakfast and tried to console her for a while.

Bethan didn’t mention the financial settlement Hugh had

demanded.

Fiona had always doted on her since childhood, and she was really good to her.

But after all, Hugh was Fiona’s own son.

Deen down. Fiona didn’t want her son to get divorced.

Gwen was someone she could confide in, but she was a real big mouth.

If she told Gwen that Hugh was asking for a billion to divorce her, the whole world would know in no time.

That wasn’t what she wanted.

At noon, Bethan went back to her parents’ place.

When her parents learned that she wasn’t getting divorced, they weren’t happy; instead, they were worried.

Miranda pulled Bethan into the room and whispered, “Bethy, is Hugh giving you a hard time?”

Bethan was too afraid to tell her parents about her grievances.

She forced a smile and said, “He explained. It was just a misunderstanding. He didn’t cheat.”

Miranda let out a sigh of relief. “That’s good. That’s good.”

Then Miranda led Bethan out of the room. “Your uncle’s family is moving to Chicago. Their house will be empty. Your dad and I are thinking of moving there.”

As she spoke, she took out a bank card. “The money in this card is what Hugh sends us every month. After paying for our medical bills, the rest is here. Your dad has found a job as a consultant in a factory in the development zone. His salary is enough for us. You can return this card to Hugh.”

Vincent sat across from his wife and daughter, head down, silent.

Bethan’s hunch was right.
