Chapter 332 A Gift From Calvin
Lucky Draw
Panicked by the turn of events, Bradley snapped at his butler, ordering him to fetch another 100 thousand dollars in cash.
Hugh stepped beside Bethan, his face gloomy, every word cold and deliberate. “Mr. Field, do you really think the Cavill family needs
your 200 thousand dollars?”
His words left no room for misunderstanding-everyone present could tell where his loyalty lay.
Bradley looked embarrassed, his tone placating. “Mr. Cavill, why don’t you name a price?”
Before Hugh could respond, Bethan cut in, her voice steady. “Since Mr. Cavill, the Ridley family, and everyone else are here, there are some things I need to clarify once and for all.”
Glancing at Hugh briefly, she turned her gaze to Maria, Nola, and Jasper, her expression turning serious.
“Mrs. Field, I’ll say this one last time in front of everyone—your niece Megan is a murderer. She deserves every bit of the law’s punishment.”
Maria’s face twisted with suppressed anger, humiliation creeping into her features.
She loved her niece and felt sorry for Megan, but she hated having Megan’s crime paraded in front of everyone.

A faint, mocking smile spread across Bethan’s face. “Mrs. Field, after Sir Cavill broke up your niece and Hugh, she went abroad and drugged a married man, hoping to trap him with a child and marry into his family. When that failed, she was forced to live with an alcoholic who abused her for years. Back in town, she became Hugh’s mistress, knowing he was married.”
Bethan didn’t hold back, laying bare Megan’s past to shame Maria.
“I even tried to help her. Unfortunately, right after Hugh and I divorced, she was arrested for murder-she never got the chance to join the Cavill family.”
Maria’s facial muscles stiffened, her composure hanging by a
thread.
Bethan pressed on, her voice laced with exhaustion. “Mrs. Field, Hugh is the one who sent your niece to jail-not me. I’m begging you, leave me out of this. If the Ridley family is angry, go after Hugh. This has nothing to do with me!”
Turning to Hugh, she locked eyes with him. “Mr. Cavill, tell everyone-I’m right, aren’t I?”
By exposing Megan’s crimes and pushing Hugh to take center stage, Bethan washed her hands of the entire mess.
Maria, Nola, and Jasper could no longer hide their embarrassment, their faces burning with shame.

Elsie stayed quiet, too scared to speak up.
Lucky Draw
The crowd fell into awkward silence, no one daring to break the
tension.
Bethan and Hugh stared at each other, unspoken emotions swirling in his eyes.
Stepping forward, he cleared things up for her, his voice firm. “Mrs. Field, I’m the one who sent Megan to jail. If you’re upset, take it up with me.”
His tone shifted, sharp with warning. “But if I find out anyone troubles my ex-wife over Megan again—even if they’re from one of the eight prominent families-I won’t show mercy.”
Bradley shot Maria a complicated look, then forced a smile to mediate. “Mr. Cavill, Dr. Olsen, my wife was in the wrong here. Please calm down, Mr. Cavill. I’ll host a dinner party soon, and my wife and I will apologize to you both properly.”
Bethan knew Bradley was backing down only out of fear of Hugh, Tristen, and Mason.
Even if she was in the right, she couldn’t have stood against so many people.
For now, this was the best outcome.
Mason, watching from the sidelines, spoke up to wrap things up, “Mr. Field, you should pay Dr. Olsen for her dress and medical bills first.”

Maria stole a glance at her husband’s face, then stepped forward, forcing a smile. “Dr. Olsen, why don’t you decide? How much do you want?”
By asking the question, she deliberately put Bethan on the spot
-if Bethan asked for too much, she’d be accused of greed; if she said the dress was cheap, she’d be mocked.
Bethan sighed, her tone calm, “This dress was a gift from Mr. Byron. I’ll call him and ask-just pay the original price.”
Murmurs broke out in the crowd.
Elsie seized the chance to mock her. “Dr. Olsen, Mr. Byron is a top lawyer. What kind of message is he sending by giving you such a cheap dress?”
Bethan shot Elsie a cold look, pulled out her phone, and dialed Calvin’s number, putting it on speaker for everyone to hear.
At her words, Hugh’s gaze narrowed, a flicker of jealousy crossing his face-so this dress was from Calvin.
“Why aren’t you asleep this late?” Calvin’s warm, deep voice came through the phone, laced with subtle concern.
Bethan’s tone softened unconsciously. “Mr. Byron, how much was the dress you gave me last week?”
A brief silence fell on the other end.
