Breaking Point of Divorce (Hugh and Bethan) novel Chapter 336

Chapter 336 You’re Forcing Me to Do This

Their eyes locked, and a dull ache pierced Hugh’s heart.

“I’m sorry,” he blurted out, then, losing control again, he pulled Bethan tightly into his arms.

Bethan struggled desperately. “I don’t want your sorry!” she shrieked.

She deserved someone better. She deserved someone who could truly cherish her.

“Hugh, my life has nothing to do with you. You’ll never control me again!” Bethan showed no mercy, pushing and tugging at him with hands and feet.

In a moment of panic, Hugh pinned Bethan against the steering wheel.

His intense gaze lingered on her rosy lips as he growled, “Bethan, you’re mine and only mine!”

Just as he leaned in to kiss her, he noticed the discomfort on

Bethan’s face and froze.

Carefully, Hugh closed Bethan’s legs and cradled her on his lap like a child. “Did you hurt your lower back?” he asked softly.

Bethan tried to wriggle free, but Hugh tightened his grip.

Tears welled up in Bethan’s eyes as she lashed out. “Hugh, we’ve known each other since childhood. You don’t love me, you don’t cherish me, but you won’t let me go, either. You won’t allow others to be nice to me. How can you be so selfish? I really regret ever knowing you, and I regret marrying you!

“You’re cold-hearted. You don’t deserve a marriage or a family. You’re doomed to be alone for the rest of your life!”

Hugh just held Bethan, not moving, not saying a word in return, simply listening to her rant.

When Bethan finally wore herself out and fell silent, Hugh gently tucked a stray hair behind her ear.

“Hey, Bethy, there’s no need to be so harsh. I just want to remarry you and make up for my mistakes. I’m not as bad as you say,” he said tenderly.

Bethan swatted his hand away. “Hugh, I’m asking you, why do you insist on remarrying me?”

Hugh looked at her earnestly. “Marriage is a lifetime vow. We promised to be together forever!”

Giving him a disdainful look, Bethan said, “I bet you’ve said the same thing to Megan and her son”

Hugh shook his head. “I did make a promise to Megan, but it’s not what you think.

“My feelings for you and Megan are completely different. I don’t love Megan, and I have no desire for her.”

Before he could finish, Bethan cut him off icily, “Hugh, do you love me?”

Their eyes met again, and Hugh was suddenly at a loss.

Since he could remember, Bethan had always been a part of his life. They’d been friends since childhood for over twenty years, and Bethan had never hidden her affection for him.

But she’d never asked him this question before.

In their three-year marriage, Bethan had always given without ever bringing up such a topic.

This was the first time she’d asked if he loved her.

And in all those years, he’d never thought about it.

Bethan watched his reaction coldly, a mocking smile on her face.

“You’re a businessman who only cares about profit, Hugh. You don’t love anyone. You only care about your own needs,” she said.

Bethan’s words yanked Hugh back from his thoughts.

Instinctively, he shook his head, yet found himself unable to refute her.

“In our marriage, all you wanted was lust and profit,” Bethan 3/5

declared.

Without giving Hugh a chance to speak, she continued, “We’re both Scorpios, and I know you have a cleanliness fetish. You want to break free and give Megan and her son a future, but your body can’t accept a woman who’s been with another man and has a child.

“You knew I loved you, so you could keep me around on the cheap. I’m young, beautiful, and have had the best education. I’m familiar with the high-society circles and have common connections with you.”

“That’s not true! Don’t think of me like that!” Hugh interrupted, losing control.

Bethan pressed on. “Why are you so gentle and partial to Megan, but only willing to give me the title of Mrs. Cavill?

“Because I’m young, pure, and easy to be with. I have no strong family background, so you think you can manipulate me. You believe I’m so into you that you can do whatever you want!” she

accused.

Overwhelmed with emotion, Hugh leaned in and hugged Bethan tightly. “That’s not the case!

“You’re my wife, the woman I married properly. I never thought of you as just a bed partner. I swear!”

Bethan’s words cut like a knife. “Even if you don’t admit it, you’ve acted that way.
