Breaking Point of Divorce (Hugh and Bethan) novel Chapter 353

Chapter 353 Going All in With This Fight

Out of the blue, Jacob pulled a complete about-face, sending the three women into a frenzy of rage

With a newfound certainty, Maria was convinced that Jacob and Bethan were in this together.

“It ain’t no big deal if you won’t own up. There are security cameras right at the entrance!” Maria spat, pointing at Bethan.

Nola didn’t hold back. She charged at Jacob like a bull, yelling, “Look at you, all prim and proper. Who’d have thought you were such a snake? You were the one who had your guys block our way, and now you’re blaming us?

Jacob fended off Nola’s attack with his arms, shuffling backward step by step. But he was as stubborn as a mule, insisting he’d just been passing by.

“I’m standing by Jacob. He doesn’t tell fibs,” Bethan said.

Having known Jacob for a few years, she was well acquainted with his character.

Then, she turned to Maria with a warning. “Mrs. Field, I know you’re harboring a grudge against me. But it was your niece who crossed the line and broke the law. She got what was coming to her, so you can’t take it out on me

Maria shot back, “Dr. Olsen, don’t go putting words in my mouth. I came to this diner to grab a bite, not to square off with you.”

Bethan’s patience wore thin. “Maria, you hit the jackpot marrying into the Field family at your age, pregnant and all. You’d best stay home and focus on bringing that baby into the world. If you keep trying to cause trouble for me and end up losing the baby, your days as Mrs. Field will be over.”

“You’re cursing my baby?” Maria screeched, snatching up the glass of soda on the table and dousing Bethan.

Mason quickly tugged her aside just in time, leaving Jacob, who had stepped in front of Bethan to protect her, drenched.

Bethan immediately grabbed some napkins and offered them to

him.

Without hesitation, Gwen landed a stinging slap on Maria’s face. “You cheap tramp! How dare you throw that at Bethan!”

Maria was left red-faced and steaming with humiliation.

Elsie stared at Gwen in shock, shouting, “Ms. Cavill, hitting a pregnant woman? You’re asking for trouble with the Field family.”

Fearing for Gwen, Bethan stepped in and slapped Elsie. “I did it. Let them come and see what they can do.”

Elsie clapped a hand to her stinging cheek. “Bethan, don’t be so 2/6

full of yourself. Without the Cavill family backing, you, you’re nobody.”

Bethan reached for Gwen, but Gwen pushed her away,

With her temper on full boil, Gwen grabbed Maria’s hair. “Think being pregnant makes you special? I’ll end this right now.”

Maria shrieked, covering her belly in panic. Nola, true to her rough-around-the-edges nature, jumped into the fray.

Watching the melee of four women start to break out, Mason and Jacob hastily stepped in to try to separate them.

“I’m going all in with this fight!”

Nola, who grew up in a fish-market family, had no qualms about getting dirty.

For the future of Maria’s baby and the Ridley family fortune, she was willing to do whatever it took

She dodged behind Mason and Jacob and grabbed their hair, locking in a fierce grip.

With his short-cropped hair, Jacob managed to wriggle free first from the tussle.

Meanwhile, Mason, whose permed and dyed short hair had become a target, let out a sharp yelp.

On the other side of the room, four women were locked in a

fierce brawl, their arms flailing and voices raised in anger.

It took the combined efforts of several waiters and some kind-hearted passersby to finally pull them apart.

Maria’s face was swollen from Gwen’s slaps.

She staggered over to a chair, clutching her stomach, and barked at Nola, “Call the cops right now!

With her hair in disarray and looking like a complete mess, Nola pointed at Bethan’s group, huffing and puffing. “No one can get away with it!”

Elsie, with her coat on the floor and hair all over the place,

had several red slap marks on her face. She sneered at Bethan, “You guys don’t know jack. The police chief’s last name is Field. You’re gonna pay big time!”

Bethan just brushed off Elsie’s taunts.

Seeing Jacob with a few buttons missing from his shirt and scratches on his face and neck, she felt guilty. “Sorry, Jacob. I dragged you into this,” she said.

Jacob just nodded, looking sheepish and not daring to say a word.

Mason was fuming. “That crazy broad!” he growled.

His once-stylish haircut was now a shambles, and there were scratches running from his chin to his neck. Bethan reached out 4/6

and straightened his collar.

Then, patting her head, she realized her hair clip was gone.

Her long hair cascaded down her shoulders, and there was a scratch on her face from Elsie’s nails. The waist chain on her dress had also been ripped off, leaving her looking rather bedraggled.

Bethan grabbed Gwen’s arm and pulled her back to a safer spot.

Gwen was the only one who came out of the fight looking composed, her hair neatly in place and her dress unwrinkled.

That was because she’d been training in self-defense, like kickboxing and close-quarter combat, since she was a kid.

But Hugh always told her not to show off her skills.

Mason was a good fighter, but he wouldn’t lay a hand on women. While getting his hair pulled, he still tried his best to shield Bethan and Gwen.
