Chapter 358 Be a Well-Behaved Grown-up
Lucky Draw
Just thinking about Bethan made Elsie seethe with hatred. That woman was the reason her grandmother still wouldn’t let her father recognize her as part of the Davis family.
But now, even the Field and Potter families were too scared to make a move. As an illegitimate daughter who hadn’t been officially recognized by the family, Elsie knew she didn’t stand a chance against Hugh.
After much thought, Elsie decided to lie low and see how things played out for a while.
As she stepped out of the park, Elsie bumped into Bethan and her colleague.
Bethan’s face immediately soured at the sight of Elsie.
Elsie took the initiative to speak up, “Dr. Olsen, don’t look at me like that. I’m not here to cause you any trouble.”
Seeing this, Bethan’s colleague made an excuse and left,
Elsie walked up to Bethan and said grudgingly, “Bethan, you
win.”
“What do you mean by saying I win?” Bethan looked skeptical.
Elsie sneered, saying, “You don’t know yet, do you? Hugh

terminated the cooperation with the Field Group for you, going against the pressure from the Cavill family elders and the board. Even Ms. Poller doesn’t dare to offend you now.”
Bethan shot Elsie a bored glance and then turned away.
Even if Elsie’s words held some truth, Hugh wasn’t doing it for her.
He was only doing it for himself, trying to soothe that tiny sliver of guilt gnawing at his conscience
He surely had his own agenda. He’d never do something that would end up hurting both sides.
During the evening rush hour, from the passenger seat, Jacob spotted Bethan on the roadside. Ile quickly told the driver to pull over.
Then he turned and said, “Mr. Cavill, looks like Dr. Olsen’s car tire is flat.”
Before the car even fully stopped, Hugh was already out. He closed the door and was about to stride towards Bethan when he saw James getting out of a car in the distance,
There was Bethan, trotting over to James with a big smile on her face. Hugh felt his feet freeze in place as he watched her.
“Mr. Keating, your leg’s all better” Bethan exclaimed.

She grabbed James’ hands and started twirling around with him on the roadside, clearly over the moon to see him walking without a limp.
James was dressed in a dark-colored suit over a deep-colored shirt. Somehow, he managed to make that formal suit look a bit rakish.
He yanked his hands back in mock disgust and asked, “What happened to the tire?”
Looking up at James’ handsome face, Bethan said, “Maybe I’m just too gorgeous today, and the tire couldn’t handle it and blew out.”
James took off his coat and tossed it at Bethan, his eyes twinkling with amusement. “Move out of the way!”
Bethan sidled up again and playfully poked James’ abdomen. “Still got those abs even after sitting in a wheelchair. You must’ve been working out in secret.”
Swatting her hand away, James gently pushed her head aside. “Good grief! Now be a well-behaved grown-up!”
James crouched down to check the tire, and Bethan copied him, squatting beside him and giggling. “So handsome!”

Not far away, Hugh watched their interaction, his heart sinking.

Once, that kind of smile on Bethan’s face was reserved only for him.
She used to look at him the way she was looking at James now, with crinkled eyes as she told him he was the handsomest.
Seeing Hugh’s face darkening by the minute, Jacob quickly opened the car door. “Mr. Cavill, there’s a call from the Cavill Manor, saying they’re urging you to go back.” Hugh slowly came to his senses and got into the car, his expression blank.

Bethan’s car was sent to the repair shop. So, the next morning, Arthur drove her to the hospital in his pajamas.
A staff member at the front desk called out to her, “Dr. Olsen, your breakfast.”
Just as Bethan stopped, her phone buzzed with a message from
Calvin.
He said he’d passed by the hospital and dropped off a breakfast for her at the outpatient reception.
Back in her office with the breakfast; her assistant Joe popped up, brimming with curiosity. “Dr. Olsen, which hunk is this one sending you breakfast?”
Bethan laughed and took out the breakfast, offering one to Joe, saying, “You’re the nosiest one in our department.”

Joe kept gossiping, asking, “Dr. Olsen, with so many good-looking guys around you, which one have you got your eye on?”
Bethan rolled her eyes and headed into the changing room.
However, Joe leaned against the door and kept saying, “Mr. Byron is such a gentleman, Mr. Keating is ruggedly good-looking, and Mr. Locke is both cute and handsome.”
