Chapter 361 Kidnapped
It was approaching the end of the workday the next day. In the CEO’s office of the Cavill Group, Hugh sat in a daze, fixated on the Instagram post Bethan had just shared.
She’d taken a leave to attend the parent-teacher meeting for Calvin’s son and pick the kid up from school.
Did she really want to be with Calvin?
Was she actually considering being a stepmom to someone else’s child?
Hugh’s breathing hitched. On impulse, he dialed Bethan’s number.
Meanwhile, Bethan was crossing the road with Henry.
Glancing at Hugh’s name on the caller ID, she didn’t hesitate to hit the reject button.
“Bethan, I think we’re being followed,” Henry suddenly spoke
Bethan looked around, not taking it seriously. “Trying to scare me again, huh?”
But Henry grabbed her hand and took off running.

be more alert.”
Then, Henry tried to call his bodyguard on his phone watch, only to find he couldn’t get through.
Bethan’s heart skipped a beat. She recalled what Hugh had once told her.
Calvin had taken on a tough case. After winning the lawsuit, the defendant suffered huge losses.
In revenge, they’d kidnapped Calvin’s wife and son.
The boy was saved, but Calvin’s wife never woke up.
Could someone be targeting Calvin again, and now it was Henry in their sights?
Bethan tightened her grip on her phone but didn’t call Calvin right away. He was abroad, and there was no way he could make it back quickly.
Better to be cautious, whether it was real or just paranoia.
“Henry, let’s head to the hospital first,” she said, leading him towards her car.
The hospital was the closest place, and with Tristen there

Bethan opened the back door, intending for Henry to get in first.
But in a split second, a hand reached out from inside the car and yanked Henry in.
In broad daylight, Bethan was caught off guard. There were bad guys in her car.
The man held a dagger to Henry’s neck and threatened her to get in.
For the boy’s safety, she had no choice but to comply.
Late at night, in an abandoned liquefied gas station warehouse on the outskirts of New York, Bethan and Henry were tied up in separate rooms.
Suddenly, Calvin arrived with his bodyguards and rescued his son. “Tell Dad, does it hurt anywhere?”
As soon as the tape on Henry’s mouth was removed, he burst into tears and pointed at the next room. “Dad, they’ve got Bethan in there!”
Calvin’s face darkened. He handed the boy to a bodyguard beside him. “Take the boy out first.”

gas. It’s too dangerous. You can’t go in there!”
Before they’d even finished speaking, Calvin was already far down the hallway.
Inside the warehouse, Bethan had her mouth taped shut and was tied to a pillar.
She listened in horror as the assailants discussed breaking her legs and using her as a hostage to escape. Fear gripped her.
These guys were ruthless. And what about Henry?
Just as a menacing man raised a club to strike her legs, Bethan squeezed her eyes shut in despair.
But then came a scream, followed by the sounds of a scuffle.
When she dared to open her eyes, the attackers were howling and scrambling towards the door.
Right in front of her, Calvin was fumbling to untie her ropes. At that moment, he looked so familiar and reassuring that tears welled up in her eyes.
Seeing her tears streaming down, Calvin couldn’t help but comfort her. “Don’t worry. I’m here. Nothing’s gonna happen to you.”

“Quick! Henry’s next door!” she blurted out.
Calvin gently supported her arm. “Cool it. Henry’s safe. Let’s get out of here first.”
Knowing the boy was okay, Bethan finally let out a sigh of relief.
Just as they were about to leave, a lit lighter came flying in through the window.
“Damn it!” Calvin cried out, grabbing Bethan’s hand and racing
towards the door.
Before Bethan could react, there was a deafening explosion. A wave of scorching heat, along with shards of liquefied gas cylinders, rushed towards them.
