Chapter 366 How Have I Treated You
Without a hint of emotion, Bethan wriggled out of Hugh’s embrace.
Turning to face him, she was calm as ever, showing neither
anger nor annoyance.
In an unusually composed tone, she told Hugh, “You know we grew up together and were married for three years. In your heart, wasn’t Megan always more important than me?”
Then, she walked out of the office without looking back, still holding the breakfast in her hand.
Hugh’s body gave way, and he crumpled to the floor with a thud.
Hearing the noise, Bethan stopped in her tracks.
She quickly flagged down two passing nurses. “There’s a patient in my office with severe gastric bleeding, and he’s out cold. Get a doctor right away and transfer him to the ER,” she
ordered.
Just then, Gwen showed up. She saw her brother being

In the distance, Bethan stood there, still clutching the breakfast, but not making a move to approach.
Gwen rushed into the office. On the desk, there was the

breakfast Hugh had bought for Bethan, and on the floor, a pool of bright-red blood.
Tears streaming down her face, she left the office and chased after the medical staff taking Hugh to the ER.
As she passed Bethan, she gave her a tear-filled look but said nothing.
After watching them take Hugh into the elevator, Bethan turned and walked off.
Around eight in the evening, Hugh woke up in the hospital ward.
Weakly, he glanced around. His parents and sister were there, but Bethan was nowhere to be found.
With a heavy heart, he stared at the ceiling.
Nick Summers, Hugh’s doctor, walked into the ward. Ryan couldn’t wait to ask, “Dr. Summers, how’s my son doing?”

Helplessly, Nick told them the truth about Hugh’s condition.
Seeing the shock on Hugh’s parents’ faces, he said, “Mr. Ryan Cavill, Mrs. Fiona Cavill, don’t worry too much. As long as Hugh avoids stress, keeps calm, and sees a specialist for his sleep issues, it’ll help his recovery. His stomach problem needs long-term treatment. Pay close attention to his diet and emotions. You guys need to be prepared.”
After Nick left, Gwen said to her parents, “Dad, Mom, you stay here. I’ll go grab some dinner.”
With Hugh’s condition worsening, his parents had no appetite.
Fiona told Gwen, “It’s been almost twelve hours since your brother got out of the ER. Go home and ask the kitchen to make some light soup for him.”
Gwen left the ward. As she rummaged through her bag for her car keys, she was on the phone with the Cavill Manor, asking the kitchen to make the soup.
Just then, Bethan came out of Calvin’s adjacent ward. She saw a lipstick fall out of Gwen’s bag and bent down to pick it up.
Gwen spotted Bethan and hung up the phone.
Looking at the lipstick Bethan was holding out, she didn’t take

With tears welling up in her eyes, she asked, “Bethan, how have I treated you since we were kids?”
Bethan put the lipstick back in Gwen’s bag. “Like sisters,” she replied.
Gwen’s tears started flowing. “And how about my mom? How has she treated you?”
Bethan lowered her head. “Like a mom,” she answered without
hesitation.
Gwen sobbed, “I know my brother messed up and doesn’t deserve your forgiveness. But we’ve been family since we were little. I’ve always seen you as a sister, and Mom treats you like her own daughter. She even broke up your marriage to set you
free.”
Pointing at her own heart, Gwen confronted Bethan. “Even if my brother deserves to rot in hell, at least Mom and I have always been sincere to you. For Mom’s sake, how could you just stand by and do nothing when my brother vomited blood and fainted in your office?”
In the face of Gwen’s accusation, Bethan lowered her eyes to hide the emotions within.
After a brief silence, she explained, “Gwen, I called a doctor for v
him.”
