Breaking Point of Divorce (Hugh and Bethan) novel Chapter 367

Chapter 367 Pinkie Swear

Dressed in a hospital gown, tall at around six feet, and with a calm, reserved demeanor, Calvin turned to grab a tissue and

offered it to Bethan.

“Ms. Cavill’s an emotional one. Once she calms down, your relationship’ll patch up naturally.”

Bethan couldn’t resist asking, “You’re really that sure Gwen and I’ll make up?”

Calvin smiled and nodded, saying, “Like attracts like. You’re amazing, so your friends can’t be anything but great.

“Ms. Cavill might have her faults, but the fact that she’s been your friend since childhood means there’s something special about her.”

Bethan looked up into his eyes. “Thanks, Mr. Byron,” she said.

No matter how down she was, a chat with Calvin always cheered her up.

Despite his high-class status, Calvin had an approachable air.

There was a certain distance in his kindness, though, which made her feel at ease and stress-free

because you were protecting Henry. We should be thanking you,” Calvin said.

That made Bethan laugh.

Meanwhile, Fiona and Ryan passed by Calvin’s ward. Seeing Bethan and Calvin getting along so well, they left with mixed looks on their faces.

For the next three days, Hugh kept his eyes on the ward door.

Bethan came and went, sometimes with a basket of fruits,

sometimes with a lunchbox, and once even with Calvin’s son. But she never stepped into his ward or even glanced his way.

Gwen was sitting by the bed, peeling an apple. “Hugh, get better soon. Let’s take a family trip overseas at the end of the

year.”

Hugh, who’d been looking at his laptop, shifted his gaze to

Gwen.

Lowering his eyes a bit, he said, “I’ll agree, but only if you come to the company and help me.”

Gwen was caught off guard.

A finance grad who’d also attended executive courses, she’d never worked a day.

The dividends from the Cavill Group were more than enough for her, and with her investments, there was no need to work.

“Remember, Hugh? You said Bethan and I never had to work. You’d take care of us,” Gwen reminded him, watching his face carefully.

The thought of Bethan’s happy face when he’d said he’d support her made Hugh wear a wry smile.

He was quiet for a while before saying, “If you come to the company, I can focus on getting better.

“I’ll train you myself, and Jacob’ll be your assistant. Do well, and I’ll take you, Mom, and Dad to Europe. I’ll foot the bill.”

Paying for her was nothing. Getting well was the main thing.

Gwen held out her pinky. “Pinkie swear,” she said.

Hugh sighed affectionately and hooked his pinky with hers.

“Okay, I’ll start at the company tomorrow,” she agreed.

The smile on Gwen’s face vanished in an instant.

Hugh explained, “I don’t like staying in the hospital. There’s a private doctor at home. It’s way more convenient.”

After a brief hesitation, Gwen nodded obediently.

Even though this floor was filled with VIP wards, there was still some foot traffic at night.

Given Hugh’s poor sleep quality, it was indeed more suitable for him to recuperate at home.

Stepping out of the ward, Gwen bumped into Bethan leading Henry in the corridor.

Both adults stopped in their tracks. Henry greeted politely, “Hello, pretty lady!”

Gwen glanced at Bethan and then offered the orange in her hand to Henry.

Approaching Bethan, she awkwardly apologized, “I didn’t mean it that day.”

Bethan sighed and took Gwen’s hand, saying, “I know you’re worried about your brother. I understand your concern and anxiety. I don’t blame you.”

she couldn’t help smiling, “My brother has pulled himself together. He said he’ll undergo treatment properly and accompany me and our parents on an overseas trip at the end of the year.”

Bethan nodded with relief.

It would be the best outcome if Hugh could stop being so

stubborn.
