Breaking Point of Divorce (Hugh and Bethan) novel Chapter 390

Chapter 390 Feel Loved

In a flash, Bethan shoved Hugh aside. Hastily straightening her clothes, she stepped onto the sidewalk in a hurry.

Staying there any longer would mean falling into his “trap”.

With a look of determination, she snapped at Hugh, “Hugh, I’ve always treated you like a real-deal brother, but you’re trying to come on to me. You bet I’ll post your dirty deeds online and roast you in public!”

Bethan’s sudden and straightforward change left Hugh flustered.

This was the genuine Bethan, who dared to do whatever she had in mind, a bit bold and, well, sassy.

Yet, if he didn’t take the initiative and show some more passion, this wedding was bound to end up in the dumps.

Bethan started ticking off her grievances on her fingers, ranting, “You know what they say, ‘Like father, like son’. The men in the Cavill family are all a bunch of bad apples. Your grandpa’s an old and greedy geezer only after the money. Your dad is so full of himself and has always dissed our family.”

Hugh just stood there his mouth shut tight not knowin

Bethan continued, “All these years, I’ve been the one chasing after you. You always looked like you were being tortured, so reluctant all the time.”

Hugh still remained silent.

Then she continued, “You’ve never once said you love me or anything sweet like that. You didn’t even pop the question properly. You’re not really into marrying me, are you?”

Hugh tried to speak up, “Bethy, I…”

But Bethan cut him off right away. “Look, I’ve finally seen the light. I won’t bug you, and you don’t bug me. Let’s just call it quits. If you’re dying to get hitched, find someone else. If you can’t, I’ll hook you up with someone.”

She reckoned Megan’s kid was probably over two years old by now.

If worse came to worst, she’d jet off to Canada and bring back his precious first love herself.

Hugh’s face turned as gloomy as a thundercloud. He stared dead-straight at Bethan and said firmly, “I only want you!”

Waving her hands dismissively, Bethan said, “Hugh, I’ve laid it all out for you. If need be, I’ll tell everyone we know that done. You go ho arents. See if want they still want me as ten dager. I want for your answer.

Without giving Hugh a chance to respond, Bethan pushed past him and took off running.

Hugh remained rooted to the spot, watching Bethan dash home like a bat out of hell. His eyes slowly lost their sparkle.

Be just a brother?

Not in a million years.

“Something’s fishy here. Usually, it’s Hugh who walks off in a huff, and Bethan just stands there, all love-sick. What’s with the role reversal today?”

“I’ve never seen Bethan chew Hugh out like that. Did Hugh do something to mess things up big-time?”

Hearing the hushed whispers behind him, Hugh whipped around, his face gloomy.

The two who had been whispering from afar suddenly clammed up.

Hugh pointed at the sleek limo parked nearby and told Gwen, “Go wait in the car.”

Gwen ducked behind Mason. “You guys talk. I won’t but in.”
