Chapter 415 Couldn't Be an Average Joe
With wobbly steps, Ryan plopped down on the sofa, his lips twitching nonstop.
Fiona, eyeing Ryan in this sorry state, finally felt a long-awaited sense of vengeance.
While Ryan was falling apart, Harvey kept his cool.
"Hugh, this is a lose-lose stunt. The losses of the Cavill Group are yours, too."
Hugh just stared at the floor, silent.
Seeing this, Harvey caved in. "Look, shut down that overseas company and focus on the Cavill Group, and I'll let you call the shots on your marriage."
A sly smile spread across Hugh's face. "Grandpa, if you want me back at the Cavill Group, it's not just about you and Dad staying out of my marriage. I also want your 15% stake in the company."
Those words shocked Harvey and Ryan deeply.
Ryan shot up, jabbing a finger at Hugh. "Hugh, he's your grandpa! Don't be such a hard-ass!"
Hugh strolled up to his father, voice steady. "Dad, you always said a man's gotta be tough-hearted and ruthless to make it big. Well, I'm just following your advice."
Ryan clutched his chest, looking like he was about to keel over.
Rising to his feet slowly, Harvey said, "If you're all in for the Cavill Group, the shares are yours!"
As soon as Harvey finished, Hugh whipped out his phone and made a call.
When the call ended, Jacob showed up with two lawyers.
Hugh grabbed the share transfer papers from Jacob and thrust them at Harvey. "Grandpa, I've got this all set up. If you're serious, sign now."
Bethan had told him he couldn't be ordinary; her life would be miserable otherwise.
And he always listened to her.
Harvey and Hugh locked eyes for what seemed an eternity.
Then Harvey signed the papers.
He chucked the pen away. "I've signed. But miss the deadline to get back to the Cavill Group in a week, and these shares are gone!"
Then he ordered Ryan to help him out.
Fiona gave Hugh a look full of mixed feelings and patted his shoulder. "It's your and Bethy's birthday tomorrow. Get some shut-eye."
After seeing Fiona out, Hugh took a quick shower and headed to the walk-in closet.
There on the table were three dazzling pieces of jewelry.
In a sleek black briefcase was the Olsen family set he'd retrieved for Bethan.
The pink diamond ring was the one he'd planned to propose with on the island.
And there was that diamond necklace he'd snagged at a charity event, a one-of-a-kind deal.
