Chapter 49 Don’t Show Up In Front Of My Wife
While on her way to the physiotherapy room after assisting Brandon with a patient consultation, Bethan bumped into Tristen again.
The Dixon family’s private hospitals were spread across the globe. Although Tristen wasn’t a doctor at this particular hospital, he often came here for expert consultations on difficult cases, so Bethan ran into him quite frequently.
Tristen immediately noticed Bethan’s exhaustion. “Is being Mr. Edwards’ assistant taking a toll on you?” he asked.
Bethan exchanged some polite pleasantries before hesitantly posing her question. “Tristen, you’ve got a wide network. Do you know anyone in the auction business?”
Tristen adjusted his glasses with his knuckle. “Are you looking to buy or sell?”
Bethan replied, “I have a set of jewelry. I’m hoping to find a reliable auction house to get it appraised. If the price is right, I’d like to sell it.”
Tristen offered, “I know a jewelry appraiser at Glory
International Auction House. I’m meeting him after work. How about you come with me? I can introduce you.”
Bethan’s face flushed with excitement. “Thanks, Tristen. See you after work.”
With a clear goal in mind, Bethan perked up.
Once she sold the jewelry, she could divorce Hugh and finally break free from her current situation.
Although she could have asked Gwen or Mason for help with selling the jewelry, they were too close to Hugh, and she didn’t want any unnecessary complications.
As soon as work ended, Bethan stepped out of the hospital’s outpatient building.
Instead of seeing Tristen’s car, she spotted Hugh first.
Standing on the steps, she watched as Hugh approached. The warmth on her face gradually faded.
Hugh stopped in front of Bethan and spoke in a soft, gentle voice, “I’ve booked a table at your favorite restaurant. Just let your parents know. I’ll take you home later.”
Standing at 6 feet 3 inches tall, Hugh was dressed in an expensive business suit. His strikingly handsome face and the imposing aura of a powerful figure attracted the attention of many as soon as he stood at the hospital entrance,
Bethan took a step to the side, putting some distance between them. “Hugh, I’ll never forget the time you left me in the middle of dinner to be with your first love.”
Hugh fixed his intense gaze on Bethan’s face and reached out to grab her hand.
But Bethan subtly stepped back to avoid his touch, then quickly got into Tristen’s car.
Hugh stood there, watching Bethan drive away in another man’s
