Chapter 62 Give You What You Want

Bethan hesitated, then asked, “I heard the Dixon family’s private hospitals have branches all over the world. Is it possible for me to go to the one in Canada? I heard singing bowl therapy there is really advanced. I’d love to study it while I’m there.”
Tristen smiled knowingly but didn’t call her out. “One phone call and you’re in. Just let me know when you want to leave.”
Bethan didn’t blink. “Three days from now.”
“Got it. I’ll get everything arranged tonight. The hospital will cover all travel expenses,” Tristen promised.
After parting ways, Bethan stopped by the supermarket, buying bags full of groceries. Back home, she personally cooked a lavish meal.
That evening, her father came home from work. Barry was home for the weekend. Bethan sat down to a rare, joyful dinner with her family.
But as she noticed the gray in her parents’ hair and the lines around their eyes, her heart ached.
Still, to buy back the jewelry and start a new life, she had to leave them behind. She needed to rebuild her future on her own.

After dinner, the family sat together in the living room chatting.
Bethan reached into her bag and pulled out two bank cards. She handed one to Miranda. “Mom, Dad, the jewelry’s been sold. It went for one and a half billion dollars. I split it into two cards. I’ll use a billion dollars to settle the divorce with Hugh. The rest… It’s for you.”
Bethan kept her head down, hesitating for a long while before finally working up the courage to speak, “Dad, Mom, I’ve decided to go abroad for a while. It’s for further studies. I’ll try to come back as soon as I can.”
Her parents exchanged a silent, sorrowful glance. The pain in their eyes said more than words ever could.
At last, Miranda gently broke the silence. “Go, sweetheart. You’re still young. If there’s something you want to do, then do it. Don’t worry about us.”
Behind her, at the bedroom door, Barry stood silently, red-eyed and biting his lower lip. His fingers gripped the doorframe, but he said nothing—just stared at Bethan.
Bethan knew-no matter what she decided-her family would always support her.
Later that evening, she entered Barry’s room.
He was curled up in a beanbag chair, silently playing video

games. Without a word, Bethan walked over, ruffled his short hair, and gently took the headphones off his ears.
Her voice was soft, tinged with affection. “I’ll be gone for a while. While I’m away, try to help Mom and Dad out more on weekends, okay? When I get back, I’ll bring you something special.”
Barry exited his game and looked up at her, his tone sulky and accusing. “You’re leaving because of Hugh, aren’t you?”
Barry knew Bethan was still hurting over Hugh.
Just like Bethan, who still couldn’t completely cut Hugh out of
her heart.
She shook her head firmly. “No, Barry. I’m leaving for me and for the Olsen family. This has nothing to do with Hugh.”
Her words were resolute, but deep down, she knew that wasn’t entirely true. A big part of why she was leaving was Hugh.
She didn’t want to see him.
And she certainly didn’t want to hear anything more about him and Megan or her son.

Gwen.
She wouldn’t be back until the end of the year at the earliest.
Fiona had always treated her like a daughter since they were little. As for Gwen, she was more than a friend. She was family.
Treating them to one last meal before leaving felt like the least Bethan could do.
Fiona sat gracefully at the table, delicately slicing her steak, but her eyes never left Bethan’s face. “Bethy,” she said gently. “Tell me the truth. Did Hugh do something to hurt you again?”
Bethan looked down, avoiding her gaze.
After a moment, she answered quietly, “Hugh’s out of town on business. He didn’t do anything.”
But Gwen barely touched her food. Her eyes flicked to the wrapped gift Bethan had given her, a sense of unease settling in
her chest.
Her voice was cautious, almost whispering. “Bethan, are you planning to divorce Hugh?”
After saying goodbye to Fiona and Gwen, Bethan returned to the house she once shared with Hugh. It didn’t feel like home
