Chapter 87 Celebrate the Festival Together
Hugh disagreed, saying, “Megan just wanted to make things right and convince Bethan to come back home. She didn’t mean any harm.”
After a brief pause, Hugh added, “You know Barry’s been spoiled. He’s hot-headed and protective. He even had the nerve to fight me. He wouldn’t have gone easy on Megan.”
Mason stubbed out his cigarette and patiently tried to talk some sense into Hugh. “Hugh, listen up. Everyone in the Olsen family’s got a big mouth but not much brains. Bethan’s such a spoiled brat. She’s no match for Megan. Why don’t you just sign the divorce papers and send her packing?”
Hugh shot Mason a look that could kill. His face was as gloomy as a storm cloud.
But Mason wasn’t about to back down. “Megan’s an absolute saint, an angel. She’s got a heart of gold and no ulterior motives. You’re getting a steal here. Just make it official already.” .

Hugh propped his forearms on the railing and leaned forward slightly.
“Your little mind games won’t work on me. I’m not divorcing Bethan.”
Mason realized there was no point in arguing further. “It’s a festival tomorrow. If you’ve got the balls, bring Bethan back to the manor. Then we’ll talk about this ‘I’m not divorcing Bethan’ nonsense.”
After Mason left, Hugh stood alone on the balcony for what felt like ages.
He had known Bethan since they were kids, sharing over two decades of memories. Throughout all those years, even in their most light-hearted banters, Bethan always maintained a respectful demeanor towards him.
Even when he stayed away from home for a solid month for Megan, Bethan held back her temper and never resorted to physical aggression.
However, this very night, she finally snapped and struck
him.

hand had connected.
The cold, determined look in her eyes when she’d stared
him down was burned into his mind.
He couldn’t sleep a wink.
He paced around the room like a caged animal, not knowing what he was looking for or what he hoped to find.
His feet just kept moving, and his heart wouldn’t settle down.
The next day, at noon, it was the festival.
Bethan had just finished changing the dressing on her brother’s wrist when Hugh showed up with a bunch of gifts.
Even though they were in the middle of a divorce, they were still legally married.
Bethan’s parents were trying to keep things civil for the sake of both families.

night, so they weren’t exactly rolling out the red carpet for him.
Miranda couldn’t hold her tongue. “You hurt my
daughter because of that tramp out there, and now you’ve beaten up my son. What are you doing here?”
Vincent laid down the law. “Our place isn’t big enough for you, Mr. Cavill. Get out.”
Hugh just stared blankly at the door to Bethan’s room.
“Vincent, Miranda, I messed up last night. I came to see how Barry’s hand is doing.”
Miranda scowled. “Barry doesn’t need your pity. Get
lost!”
Seeing that Bethan’s parents were too fired up to reason with, Hugh stayed calm. “Vincent, Miranda, I know you’re mad at me, but Bethan and I are still married in the eyes of the law.”
Hearing Hugh talking to her parents, Bethan stepped out.
Héb face was as cold as ice. “You got the divorce paper3:52

Hugh stood his ground in front of Bethan, unfazed by her threat.
