Breaking Point of Divorce (Hugh and Bethan) novel Chapter 89

Chapter 89 Stay the Night

Lucky Draw

Fiona slumped on the sofa, letting out a heavy sigh.

Hugh stepped forward and placed his hands on Bethan’s shoulders. Looking deep into her eyes, he said, “It’s a festive time. Let Grandpa, Mom, and Dad get some rest. We’ll talk about this tomorrow.”

Bethan shook her head vigorously. “Hugh, I can’t wait another second. I want a divorce!”

As they stared each other down, Hugh’s grip on Bethan’s shoulders tightened involuntarily.

Bethan pushed Hugh away and scanned the faces of the Cavill family one by one. “After the Olsen family went under, Hugh settled the debts. One billion dollars is already in his pocket. If we divorce now, I’ll walk away without taking a dime from the Cavill family,” she stated firmly.

Hugh’s eyes were bloodshot, whether from the alcohol or the shock.

He tried to stop Bethan, but she dodged him easily.

Bethan turned to Hugh. “We’ve known each other since we were kids. I hope we can part ways amicably. But if you try to control me, I’ll fight you tooth and nail and bring you and your precious woman down!”

Ever since Bethan had thrown away her wedding ring, Hugh knew she was serious about the divorce.

He opened his mouth, but no words came out.

Bethan glanced at Hugh and then faced Harvey. “Sir Cavill, Mr. Ryan Cavill, you’re smart men. I’ve got proof of Hugh’s cheating. If I take this to court, the scandal will go public. You know what’s at stake. I want a clear answer next Monday, or it’s the courtroom for all of us,” she warned.

With that, Bethan turned around and walked out with determination.

Out on the garden path leading to the gate of the Cavill Manor, Hugh caught up with Bethan.

Before she could react, he picked her up and tossed her into the car, then ordered the driver to start the engine. 2/6

you taking me?” she demanded.

Hugh, with his bloodshot eyes, held Bethan tightly in his arms. “Somewhere you can cool off,” he replied.

Late at night in the penthouse of Blue Bay Community, Hugh’s new place, he didn’t give Bethan a chance to break free and simply tossed her over his shoulder and carried

her into the bedroom.

By the time Bethan came to her senses, Hugh had her pinned to the bed, hands above her head.

She was lying on her back under Hugh in the most intimate and embarrassing position, her face flushed with anger. “Hugh, let me up!”

Hugh held her hands firmly above her head with one hand and clasped her slender waist with the other.

Maybe it was the alcohol, or something else, but his eyes were bloodshot.

He stared down at her angry eyes. Their gazes locked, and the intensity in his eyes grew.

Their breaths mingled, but Bethan turned her head away.

As he planted a gentle kiss on her exquisite jawline, Bethan thrashed about and sank her teeth into his

shoulder.

Hugh winced in pain but refused to let her go.

Instead, a glimmer of lust flickered in his eyes. “Stay the night. I’ll draw you a bath,” he said, his voice laced with a probing tone.”

Bethan was well aware that Hugh had had quite a lot to drink.

Whether he was truly drunk or just pretending, she couldn’t stay. “Hugh, aren’t you worried about hurting Megan’s feelings by doing this?”

Feeling her resistance, Hugh slowly propped himself up.

Seizing the chance, Bethan broke free and sprang out of bed.

Just as she’d anticipated, the mention of Megan made Hin stop his advances.

Fighting back her emotions, Bethan made for the door.

However, in the living room, Hugh stepped in her way. “It’s a festival today. Don’t you think it’s inappropriate to bring up divorce in front of my grandpa and parents?”

Hugh’s slow-paced, accusatory tone only fanned the flames in Bethan’s heart.

She retorted sharply, “You had an affair and have a bastard son out there. Didn’t you think that was inappropriate? What’s wrong with me asking for a divorce?”
