Chapter 90 I Would Have Married You Instead
Bethan’s eyes welled up as she thought of her family. “You know it’s a festival, and you want your grandpa and parents to have a good time. What about my parents? Why you just treat them as if they were nothing?”
Hugh reached out, grabbed Bethan’s arm, and pulled her closer.
He wiped away her tears. “So, you’re just throwing a tantrum and threatening to ruin me in front of my family because of this?”
Bethan pushed Hugh away in disgust. “How many times do I have to tell you? I’m not throwing a tantrum or being childish. I really want a divorce!”
They stared at each other, and Bethan’s eyes filled with
angry tears.
Hugh gazed at her for a while, then grabbed her wrist and dragged her into the study.

Right in front of Bethan, he fed the divorce agreement into the shredder.
Then he held the bank card out to her. “I don’t deny Megan and her son exist, and I admit I used our joint assets to help them. But it’s just simple care.”
Bethan flatly refused to take the bank card. “Hugh, stop deluding yourself. If your relationship with Megan is just platonic, did your kid just appear out of thin air?”
Without offering a single word of explanation, Hugh
stuffed the bank card worth a billion dollars into Bethan’s pocket.
Then he smoothly shifted the topic. “I know you weren’t happy when Megan and her kid moved into our house, so I moved out. From now on, we’ll live here.”
Bethan gave a cold refusal. “Hugh, the only reason I haven’t exposed your scandal is that your mom has treated me like her own daughter for over twenty years. But if you keep pushing me, don’t blame me for going all out against you.”
High locked eyes with Bethan and said slowly, word b3:58

word, “Bethan, I know you’re furious and it’s tough for you to accept Megan and her kid right away. You can take a break from me to calm down or focus on your career, but we can’t get divorced.”
Seeing Bethan silent, Hugh stepped forward and gently grasped her wrist.
His voice softened involuntarily. “There are still a few months until the end of the year. Take your time to think it over. As long as you come back home, I’ll find a way to get your mom’s jewelry set back, and this billion is yours.”
But Bethan wasn’t having it. “Hugh, you should know me well. Even if it’s something I really like, I’ll toss it away if it’s been sullied. Let alone a man who doesn’t love me, betrayed me, and is completely rotten!”
With that, Bethan pushed Hugh aside and turned to leave.
As she opened the door, she nearly bumped into Mason.
Without even having time to say hello, she walked out.
Mason stopped Hugh, who was about to chase arter her58

“Fighting again?”
Hugh halted upon seeing Mason. “She’s really steamed. I’m worried about her going back alone. Could you give her a ride?”
Mason simply replied, “Alright,” and chased after Bethan into the elevator.
At the community gate, Mason cajoled and practically dragged Bethan into his car.

He stole a glance at Bethan’s face. “Come on, What on earth did he do to make you this mad?”
Sitting in the convertible, Bethan stared into the distance.
“Mason, we’ve known each other since we were kids.
Would you beat up my brother just because of some woman’s words?”
Mason pressed his lips. “Bethan, how about we talk about something else?”
Bethan looked back at Mason and forced a sad smile.
