Breaking Point of Divorce (Hugh and Bethan) novel Chapter 97

Chapter 97 You’ll Never Be Part of the Family

The suspicion in Hugh’s eyes gradually faded.

His tone softened when he spoke again, “Megan, I shouldn’t be in Hudson’s family portrait. You can’t keep things from the kid that he should know.”

The smile on Megan’s face froze.

She stole a furtive glance at Hugh, her eyes welling up with sorrow.

“Hugh, Hudson shouldn’t have even come into this world. He’s as unlucky as I am. All he dreams of is having a dad. You have no idea what I’ve been through for you in these six years. I’m too scared to remarry. Just fulfill his little wish, please. I promise it won’t happen again.”

When she watched Hugh’s car speed away, a sly smile spread across Megan’s face.

Mason cut her off. “Hugh and Bethan aren’t divorced yet. Calling her ‘Ms. Olsen’ shows your true intentions.”

Megan’s face darkened. “Mason, Hugh and I have a child. What’s wrong with the kid wanting to see his dad?”

Mason shot back, “Is it really the kid who wants to see him, or is it you wanting to see him?”

Caught off guard, Megan averted her gaze. “I just happened to be in the area. I never forced Hugh to divorce. I never wanted to break up his marriage. Hugh takes care of us out of responsibility. We’re not in the wrong. It’s just fate playing cruel games with us.”

He pressed on, blunt as ever. “Neither you nor that son of yours counts for anything with the Cavill family elders. Hugh hasn’t divorced Bethan to be with you. Isn’t the writing on the wall by now?”

Mason’s words struck a nerve, but Megan held Lack R&:07
