Book2 Chapter1
Lena Rose P.O.V
I squeezed my eyes tight and prayed that I would go deaf. I prayed by some miracle Claire would suddenly kill over and the slave boys would be free. She had gotten a new slave proclaiming her other one was becoming a bore.
I had to bite my tongue from screaming at her.
So much agony filled his screams. So much pain.
Claire’s delighted laughter made me sick. How could a person enjoy torturing some one so cruelly?
Yes I’d tourtued my share of men but that had only been to get information never for pleasure. I was killer with little emotions but the sound of his screams always brought me to my knees.
All my life I’ve watched her treat slaves as nothing but a pet. What made me even sicker was that Claire used them for nothing but torture. They had no purpose in life here but to feel agonizing pain.
Burying my face deep into my pillows I laid in my bed and listened to their screams knowing I could do nothing to stop it. An that broke me.
I yawned and stretched as the sun shined into my room waking me.
I slide out of bed and stepped into my bathroom glancing at my reflection in the mirror. My black hair stuck out every where and my blue eyes seemed dull. I looked down at my tattoos and grimaced as I knew they didn’t hide my scars as much as I pleased.
When I was younger I was punished harsher then most kids I guess. It got even worse when I started training. I broke bones daily not that grandfather cared. It just made me stronger he said. Shaking my head i stepped into the shower and washed off. Stepping out I pulled on a pair of sweats and a tank top.
Pulling my hair into a ponytail I walked down the stairs bare footed and into the kitchen. I was surprised to see Claire the only person sitting down to eat.
“Where’s my grandfather?” I asked coolly.
She glared at me and continued to eat her breakfast. “He’s on a business trip and I’m leaving soon to be with him. We’ll be gone and won’t be back in two days. So you have to feed my slaves while I’m gone.”
I made a face at her and she smirked. But of course the witch misunderstood me. It didn’t bother me that I had to feed them it was just the way she said it. As if I was feeding a dog or something. Like they actually

were a pet, to her she was just handing me a unwanted chore.
“What ever” I muttered opening the frig.
“Oh and make sure you walk them three times a day I don’t want them getting out of shape or anything” She
chimed.
I gripped the handle tighter and muttered a tight agreement.
This woman was sicker then I assumed. Did she even remember that they were actual people?
Soon she left and I breathed out in relief. Her very presence made me want to kill something. I quickly made the men breakfast which included pancakes, bacon, eggs, and sausage. Balancing the plates on a tray I quickly moved toward the basement or the dungeon Claire called it.
My foot steps were silent as I eased down the stairs. When I reached the bottom of the stairs I closed my eyes and swallowed hard as the smell of fresh blood filled the air.
God she’d had her ‘fun‘ with them before she left.
I tentatively walked toward the large cages were two figures laid on bloody mattress.
As soon as I touched the cool metal the bodies tensed and began to shake slightly.
One of the heads rose and I recognized Alec the man Claire had had since I could remember. I’d never spoken to him before. I’d never been given the chance too if that’s believable.
He was a very handsome man even with blood covering him. He had strawberry blond hair and green eyes. When he realized it was me confusion filled his gaze.
“Hello” I said softly as to not scare them.
The other man didn’t raise his head to look at me and Alec didn’t reply only stared at me warily.
“I uh brought breakfast” I said nervously shifting. It was rare I ever felt nervous and I truly hated the emotion.
After a moment of staring at me he slowly started forward but the new slave grabbed his arm roughly pushing him back growling.
“Are you crazy! The bitch is just like them!” he snapped at Alec.
Alec’s eyes flickered to mine then to the plates I held.
“Its a chance I’ll take” Alec whispered warily.
My heart broke as Alec moved forward slowly fear etched into his features. A grown shifter male actually
