Book2 Chapter21
Shadow P.O.V
My anger grew more and more as she continued to not say a thing about the phone call. When she asked me about the puppy I snapped and walked out knowing if I stayed any longer I’d say something I’d regret.
Why couldn’t she be honest with me?
Did she not trust me enough?
As I walked down the sidewalk and fumed I felt my back pocket vibrate.
Sighing I pulled out my phone and answered.
“Hello?”
“Shadow?” I rubbed my face as I recognized my beta’s voice.
“Sam” I answered.
“Man when are you coming home? I understand you have mate to take care of but the pack really needs you” He
stressed.
Some how ending up in a park I sat down on a bench and ran a hand through my hair squinting at the sky.
“I don’t know I’ll have to talk to Lena”
“Yeah yeah I understand……….everyone’s missed you. I’m glad your okay”
I felt a little shocked Sam had actually said those words. Never one to admit to anything Sam was deemed nothing but muscle on the first impression when really he was the smartest man I’d ever met.
“Thanks….means alot. I’ll call later once I talk to my
mate”
“Is she moving here” he asked curiously.
Honestly I didn’t have a answer for that. I mean of course I wanted Lena to move in with me at the pack house. But would she really leave her family for me? If i wasn’t Alpha I would stay at the castle with her family no problem, but I was Alpha and I couldn’t leave my pack.
I been gone to long as it was. I needed to put things back in order and made sure everything was how it was suppose to be. I trusted my beta but I knew there were those who would love to over throw me.
“I’ll call you back” I sighed.
“Alright man stay safe”

“You too”
With that we hung up making me realize how long I’d actually been away from Lena. I knew when I got to her we’d
have to talk about the phone call then we’d talk about her moving in with me.
When I reached the car where I’d thought she’d be waiting all I found was a puppy in a cage in the backseat.
Frowning slightly I quickly picked up her scent and followed it across the street into a tattoo shop.
She never mentioned anything about getting a new tattoo.
When I entered a man with blue spiky hair walked up to me. “How can I help you?”
“Uh did a black haired girl come in? She had a purple tank top on” I asked.
His eyes widen slightly then narrowed.
“Sorry can’t help you” He said crossing his arms.
Starting to get pissed I inhaled sharply instantly realising he was a wolf and not a strong one at that.
“Your going to tell me where my mate is now or I’ll rip this place apart so fast you’ll–”
“In the back” He whimpered.
Growling lowly and pushed past him and stalked to the door. When my hand touched the handle my whole body
stiffened my wolf howling in rage.
The scent of another male reeked from the room and my mate was in there with him……alone. Throwing the door open
I growled loudly my rage bursting from me as I saw a large male cupping my mates cheek his head leaning down toward
hers,
He dies. My wolf roared.
As I saw the guilty look on my mates face I couldn’t help but agree as my heart tore to pieces.
Lena Rose P.O.V
Fear pounded through me as Simon held up his gun while my mate shake with his rage.
“Shadow its not what you think I pleaded
‘Shut up!” Shadow snapped glaring hatefully.
I flinched, hurt spearing through me.
“Wait you know this guy?” Simon asked in disbelief.
