I smiled as Shadow tried to sneak up on me. I laughed to myself as I watch him from the reflection in the window. I
reached out and grabbed the hose as if to wash of the plate I’d been scrubbing and spun around.
I laughed as Shadow stumbled backwards as wash splashed in his face.
When I stopped he stood in the middle of the kitchen water dripping off him. Pack members were muffling their
laughter well at least some of them were. Shadow looked up at me slowly and I placed a hand over my mouth so he
wouldn’t see my smile.
“You think this funny?” He asked slowly.
I quickly shook my head no a giggle escaping me. He lunged forward and grabbed me into a tight hug.
I squealed and tried to get out his hold but it was no use. “Let me go your soaking my shirt!” I laughed.
“And who’s fault is that huh?” He asked hugging me tighter.
“Mine, mine okay now let go.” I laughed
He chuckled and released me. I made a face and pulled my shirt from my body where it stuck.
“Now I have to go change” I grumbled.
“Who’s fault is that?” Shadow sang grabbing my hand and pulling me up the stairs. I rolled my eyes and didn’t reply.
Once we were changed Shadow pulled me into his arms and just held me. I smiled slightly and rested my head on his
chest. I enjoyed times like this. When we were just enjoying being close to each other.
Shadow had taken me out on four more dates after the first one and each one had been just as special. He’d gotton way
more possessives and and overprotective since we learned of my pregnancy but a threat from me had him back in line.
The pack doctor had came over that day and confirmed that yes I was having a baby. I called my parents and almost
had my eardrums busted from my mothers scream.
She rattled on about all the baby clothes she still had that Andrew wouldn’t need. I had smiled as she talked realising
this was what it really felt like being normal. To be able to have my mom talk to be about all the stuff I’d have to get
and all the ways she could help me.
One of my hands moved to my stomach almost absently. My stomach was still flat but it warmed me to know I had a
little life growing inside me.
Shadow leaned back slightly and covered my hand with his. I smiled up at him and he returned it. Just as he was about
to kiss me a ear splitting scream tore through my mind. ‘MOMMY!”
The utter fear in his voice felt like a bucket of water splashing over me
“Blaze” I whispered to Shadow. Instantly he was out the door running. Moving on auto pilot I grabbed a gun from the dresser and followed my mate.
Book2 Chamterdk
When I saw the scene in the back yard I felt my emotions melt away the cold killer emerging. My frist thought was how
in the hell did they get onto our land unnoticed and my second thought was, is she is so dead.
Amber stood with about eight rouges behind her Ambria and Blaze each held by a rouge. Ambria was crying and yelling
out for my Uncle who was staring murderously at the man holding her.
Blaze was glaring at the man holding onto him but I could see his body trembling in fear. A swell of pride brushed
though me at how brave he was being but the sight of Amber checking out Shadow had me ready to rip her throat out.
“You are banished from these lands what are you doing here Amber?” Shadow snarled.
Amber pouted and put a hand on her hip. “You didn’t really mean it and plus you can’t keep me from my own son now
can you?” She purred.
Males from my pack had shifted and were growling quietly at the rouges. At Shadow’s command they’d be on the rouges
in seconds but we couldn’t risk that with Blaze and Ambria in danger.
“I meant it with every fiber of my being and you don’t have a son remember?” He snarled his fist clenched tightly.
“Yes I do.” She snapped stomping her foot. “Its that one right there” She said pointing to Blaze who glared at her.
Did she not even remember his name?
“Amber because you are the birth mother of my son I will give you this one chance to leave and never show your face.”
