Trevor’s eyes turned a deep red. He looked like he was on the edge of snapping. What gutted him wasn’t the chaos around him.

It was Serena.

The same Serena who used to follow only him with her eyes. Now she looked at him like he was nobody.

“Mr. Trevor…” someone spoke up, careful and quiet.

The room was wrecked. Furniture overturned. Two women sat on the floor, still sobbing. They were clearly ready to bolt.

Amber bit her lip. Her skin had gone white. The water had been freezing, but Trevor’s words felt even colder.
