No family would casually give a hundred million as a wedding gift. Even if someone truly intended to give that much, they wouldn’t do it quietly without making it known.
With a guess forming in his mind, Sebastian suddenly changed the topic. “When are we going to visit Mom? Have you decided on a time?”
Serena was a little surprised that he brought it up first.
“Is this Saturday okay?” She had the day off, and it also happened to be her mother’s birthday.
In this world, aside from her, there were probably very few birthday.
“Alright. Saturday it is.”

Back at the hotel, Cole was in a bad mood.
He called Enrique. “What’s wrong with Sebastian? Is something wrong with his brain? I offered to invest five billion, and he rejected me.”
Enrique was silent for a moment. “What project are you investing five billion in?”
“The new resort they’re developing at Tusla Springs.”
“Come on, Mr. Murphy. The Levine Group isn’t short on money. You opening with five billion sounds like you’re there to smash the place, not invest.”
Cole didn’t know what to say. He just wanted to give his niece some financial backing. He also wanted the Levine family to know that his niece had people supporting her, and she wasn’t someone to be trifled with.
Why was he struggling like this? He should’ve just put five billion into the wedding gift card that day.
Meanwhile, Sebastian looked over the information in front of him, his

dark.
The man who had loudly offered five billion during the day was indeed Lindsay’s older brother, Serena’s uncle.
But after all these years, he only showed up now. Wasn’t that a little too late?
On Saturday, Serena went to her mother’s grave.

Sebastian looked at the photo on the tombstone. There was indeed some resemblance to Cole from that day.
His wife had inherited about sixty percent of her beauty from her mother’s delicate features, and the rest came from Donald.
“I’m here to visit you, Lindsay.” Sebastian bowed deeply to show his respect. Meanwhile, Serena crouched down and spoke softly to her mother.
“Mom, I’ve done my best to deal with the person who hurt you twenty years ago. That man wasn’t worth your love. Mom, I’m doing well. I’m all grown up, so I can protect myself now.”
She didn’t say much. Some things couldn’t be explained clearly in just a few sentences. She only hoped that her mother could rest peacefully in another world.
As they were leaving, Serena noticed a figure walking up the hill. She turned back and glanced at it one more time.
Sebastian sensed it and narrowed his eyes slightly. “Let’s go.”
She nodded and shifted her attention away. Every year, it had been Judith who brought Serena to visit her mother. Donald had come only the first year. After that, he never showed up again.
That was one of the reasons Serena despised him the most.
When Judith grew older, Serena started coming by herself. She often wondered–if one day she was gone too, would there be no one left to remember her mother?
Her maternal grandparents had cut ties with her mother long ago, and they hadn’t seen each other for years. She didn’t even know if they were still alive, or whether they still remembered that they once had a daughter.
There was a sudden change in Yvonne’s case. The lawyer who had originally agreed to represent her withdrew from the defense.
Half a month passed, and not a single lawyer was willing to take her case.
Serena assumed it was Sebastian’s doing. When she asked, he didn’t say much. He silently took credit for the good deed. After all, someone had to claim it.
The woman being held in detention requested to see Serena through the police. Serena found it strange. but she agreed, nonetheless.
She was curious to see what kind of manipulation tactic Yvonne would try this time.
