If anyone compared the bite marks, every single one on him would likely trace back to her.

Fragments of the previous night flickered in her mind. She had been singing that slow, heartbreaking song before reaching for the ambercolored drink in front of Julian.

D*mn it! That drink completely ruined me.

Lucinda quickly grabbed the long dress from the floor and wrapped it around herself, as it was the only cover she had.

As she bent to get out of bed, even her calves shook.

D*mn! Last night must have been completely out of control.

Lucinda didn’t dare stay any longer. She hurriedly put on her clothes, then silently moved toward the door barefoot, clutching her heels in one hand.

Fear pricked at her nerves. What if the door slams and wakes him?

She intentionally left the door slightly open.

As soon as she slipped outside, Lucinda sprinted barefoot down the hallway. She didn’t stop until she exited the hotel, her nerves still shaken.

She thought, That’s too close. I’ve already left, so there’s no evidence remaining. Julian can’t possibly blame me for this.

Meanwhile, the cleaner frowned at the open door. Has the guest already checked out?

She pushed the door inward. Hello?

The man on the bed stretched lazily and finally stirred.

The cleaner asked, “Sir, why are you sleeping with the door open?

Julian suddenly sat up straight and pulled the blanket over his body. Out! You can’t just walk in to clean while the guest hasn’t checked out.

Alright, alright, I’m leaving. Don’t file a complaint. Your door was open, so I assumed you had checked out,” she muttered before hurrying away.

Julian snapped his head toward the empty space beside him. Where is that girl who would not let go of me last night? She seriously ran?

His jaw clenched at the cleaner’s words. Run? Where does she think she’s going?

At dawn, Sebastian completed five laps along the treelined path outside the Levine Residence. By the time he finished, his body was just starting to warm up.

His phone vibrated in his pocket. He checked the screen and raised an eyebrow. Yeah, Julian.

Sebastian, where is your niece?Julian asked.

Sebastian’s expression froze.

His night with his wife had been so engrossing that he didn’t notice when Lucinda returned.

He asked Julian, Didn’t you drive her home? Don’t tell me she still isn’t back yet.

Right then, Lucinda quietly entered through the front door, instantly meeting her uncle’s piercing gaze. Her back straightened, and she managed a nervy smile. Morning, Uncle Sebastian.

Sebastian felt that something was wrong. What happened?

The question was directed into the phone.

Julian stopped pretending. Your niece stayed over last night, then left while I was still sleeping this morning. She even blocked me on WhatsApp. So, what’s your plan for dealing with this?

Sebastian’s face darkened. Julian, I consider you family, and you target my niece?

Julian sneered. Sebastian, why not check who was targeted? I’m marked upthanks to your niece. I’ll accept the defeat, but I’ll be there at 10 a.m. to propose.

Sebastian ended the call.
