Chapter 315 Late Night Hunger
Hm. This business license seems like it expired a month ago.
After she finished work, Sebastian came to pick her up.
That night, Sebastian was about to buy movie tickets, but Serena turned him down gently.
“I’m working overtime tonight. I might be busy for a while.”

The enforcement team had to start their investigation within three business days. She still had a few days to sort through the process.
Sebastian looked at her like she was a total workaholic. He reached over and lightly brushed her hair back. “Alright, then let’s go home. We agreed on this. Even if you work overtime, you need to sleep early.”
Serena used to stay up late all the time. After getting married, she started going to bed earlier.
She didn’t really have a choice. Sometimes Sebastian wore her out so much that she couldn’t get up the next morning.
The rules they had agreed on before marriage meant nothing to him.
Otherwise, he respected her choices. Except for this one thing.
He only listened to what he wanted to hear.
This case was more complicated than any of the civil cases Serena had handled before.
Once she got busy, time flew. When Sebastian came looking for her, she realized it was already 10 p.m.
“It’s time to sleep.” Sebastian shot her a resentful look, which made Serena laugh.
The way he looked right then really reminded her of a sulky wife.
“Okay. I’ll save the file, and then I’ll go to bed.”
When Serena lay down, she thought he might give her a break since she had worked so hard.
Sebastian pulled her into his arms. His breath brushed against her.
He had only kissed her for two seconds when her stomach growled.
Serena froze and stayed silent.
“I’m hungry. Not that kind of hungry. I’m actually hungry.”
She had eaten dinner earlier. After working for so long, she got hungry again.
The housekeeper had already gone to bed.

It felt awkward to wake her up at this hour just to cook.

Sebastian lowered his head to her collarbone and sucked hard once. His voice turned low and rough. “I’ll go make you something in the kitchen.”
Serena’s almond–shaped eyes curved like little moons. “Okay.”
She shifted under the covers and watched him move around the kitchen island in his apron. Seeing him busy there made her feel especially safe.
Sebastian wasn’t wearing a shirt. His full muscles, defined abs, and that sharp V–line were all hidden under the annoying apron.
Serena swallowed.
His body is really nice.
“Don’t make any carbs. I’m scared I’ll gain weight.”
Sebastian chuckled. “It’s fine. The only place you gain weight is your chest.”
Serena went silent and glared at him.
What a jerk.
Sebastian took a small steak out of the fridge. After it thawed, he sprinkled black pepper and olive oil on the surface. He rubbed it evenly on both sides.
Then he cooked it slowly over low heat.
“How do you like it cooked?”
“Medium”
“Just cook it until there’s no red showing,” Serena added.
Since it was late at night, Sebastian didn’t pour black pepper sauce over it. He only sprinkled a little black
pepper.
He cut it up and set it in front of her. “It’s done.”
Serena’s eyes lit up. She forked a piece and took a bite. “It’s really good!”
She wasn’t just being polite. It really tasted great.
Her mouth was full as she ate happily. “Sebastian, how do you usually like yours cooked?”
“Same as you.”
