Chapter 345 The Announcement

Chapter 345 The Announcement

When Lucinda heard this news, she was stunned.

“Rena, are you really going abroad for a whole year?”

Serena nodded. “Yeah. One year will pass quickly. I probably won’t come back during that time. Lucinda, remember to miss me.”

Lucinda hugged her with a sad expression. “I can’t believe you are just going to abandon me like this. Wait, did Uncle Sebastian agree?”

“Yes.”

Hearing this, Lucinda asked curiously, “Really? From what I’ve seen, he is so clingy. I bet he’ll follow you abroad on the second day you leave.”

Lucinda wasn’t making rash assumptions. From her observations lately, she knew that the one who had truly fallen deeply in their marriage was Sebastian.

“He won’t.” Serena smiled bitterly. “The condition for him to agree to let me go abroad is that he won’t contact or visit me for a whole year. I’ll only see him again after I come back in a year.”

Lucinda was stunned. “No way… Is he out of his mind or what?”

After Serena explained everything, Lucinda nodded thoughtfully and said, “No wonder. You’re really brave, Rena. You’re the first person who ever dared to lie to my uncle.”

Serena smiled bitterly. She knew she had truly been wrong.

“Alright then, Rena. Go fly freely! From now on, I’ll be your spy, so you don’t have to worry about any

female getting close to my uncle. I’ll keep a close eye on him for you!”

Serena laughed. “There’s no need for that. You don’t have to watch him for me.”

The more men were being watched, the more they wanted to escape.

Serena was confident and trusted him unconditionally. Even if that trust collapsed again and he no longer had a place for her in his life after she returned, she would leave with dignity and never cling to him.

During dinner, Serena announced the news to everyone.

Trevor narrowed his eyes and stared at the two people across from him, trying to detect any sign of discord from their expressions.

However, Sebastian’s arm rested casually along the back of Serena’s chair while he returned Trevor’s scrutiny with an unfriendly gaze.

The two men confronted each other silently, neither giving way.

Deanna was quite surprised to hear the news and thought that those who were favored truly have nothing to fear. She couldn’t believe that Serena had decided to leave Sebastian for a whole year,

Isn’t she afraid that he would find someone new? She seemed awfully confident, Deanna thought.

However, that wasn’t a part of her concern. Instead, she chuckled and said, “I really envy the fact that you can go abroad whenever you want, Serena. Meanwhile, my daughter can’t even come back to the country. How is this even fair?”

Sebastian pressed his lips into a thin line and said, “In that case, why don’t you go abroad too? That way, you can see your daughter every day. Or maybe you can let her be born into a better family and grow a brain. How about that?”

Deanna was at a loss for words as her face flushed in anger.

Nathan frowned and said, “Alright now. Stop talking about this matter.”

Although he was a bit dissatisfied with Sebastian’s words, he knew that it was his own wife who started it.
