The agency representative added, “This is just a photo. If we could obtain the original document for testing, that would be much more reliable. From this image, the ink appears faint. The original would make verification far easier.”
The original, however, remained with the Quinn family. She had no way to retrieve it.
It seemed like she had reached a dead end.
Sebastian asked for her location, and she gave him her address.
About thirty minutes later, he arrived to pick her up.
Serena slid into the car, and Sebastian drew her close. “Did it frighten you? I instructed people to remove the harsher online comments. But if we erase everything, it might look suspicious.”
“I discovered something,” he said.
Serena raised an eyebrow. “Oh? What did you find?”
“Ever since Kyana returned to the Quinn family, she rarely stepped outside. The last time she went out was to meet Amber.”
Serena frowned. “You think Amber pressured her to do it?”
Sebastian shook his head. “I’m not certain. It might have just been a casual visit, but the villa she stayed in–her cousin’s place with the Quinns–was sold just a few days ago.”
That meant the Quinn family could very well have been the ones pushing Kyana toward her end.
Instead of reacting with anger, Serena gently reassured Sebastian. “Don’t worry. I’ll investigate. Trust me, I can handle this.”
Sebastian looked down at her radiant, confident eyes.
She had truly grown. She didn’t need him to shield her anymore.
He couldn’t quite put his feelings into words–like raising a daughter and watching her take flight into her own sky. (D)

Serena let out a soft laugh. “Are you jealous? You really want to be my number one than badly
“Exactly I want to be first in your heart”
News of an event this significant inevitably reached the Levine family.
Deanna noticed Sebastian and Serena were absent and smirked. “Well, it seems Serena trul has no heart–her father passed away, and she didn’t shed a single tear.
“Now her sister is dead, and she hasn’t even gone to pay her final respects. She’s as cold as acel
“Meanwhile, everyone online is losing their minds over it, and she just carries on as if nothing happened. No wonder she can spend a carefree year abroad without worrying about anything”
Deanna subtly painted Serena as heartless.
Lucinda wasn’t going to let it slide. She had just returned to the Levine Residence for dinner and couldn’t stand hearing Deanna speak ill of her friend.
She set her fork down. “Deanna, unless you’ve felt someone else’s pain, don’t lecture them on kindness. When Mr. Steele adored Kyana and scolded Rena, where were your lectures then? My kid better not end up a saint like you, or they’ll get walked all over.”
“You! Lane inda, do you really speak to an elder like that?” Deanna snapped, pointing a finger. “My stomach hurts. Grandpa, Julian’s nearly here. I’m heading out,” Lucinda said, grimacing
Bryce tensed. “Your stomach hurts? Don’t get worked up over nonsense like that. Just ignore her Go lie down on the couch. I’ll call the family doctor.”
Deanna’s face turned pale. Just ignore me? Are you serious?
It was like Bryce openly displayed his bias.
“Hmph. I’m done eating too!” Deanna slammed her fork down and stormed upstairs, fuming
