Serena felt a mix of amusement and helplessness. “Sorry, Hanita, it’s not that I won’t help you. Hanita slapped her thigh. “Oh yeah, we signed a contract! It was with me personally, saying I’d take care of him for a year. It’s only been six months. There are still four or five months left.”

“Okay, that’s easy. You can handle it on your phone. I’ll send you the process,” Serena said.

“Thank you, Madam Steele. You’re really kind and beautiful, nothing like Madam Jacobs. She’s got no conscience at all. I’ve worked as a nanny in so many homes, and she’s by far the craziest mom I’ve ever seen. I’m starting to wonder if she’s even Cubbie’s real mom!”

She might be Cubbie’s real mom, but maybe the dad’s different now. Who knows? Serena thought.

After sending Hanita off, she called Sebastian.

After hearing everything, he stayed silent for a moment.

“Honey, it looks like Trevor might really be getting cheated on…” she said.

He kept his expression calm, feeling a little secret thrill, but to keep up appearances for her, he just let himself smile quietly inside. “Yeah, I’ll go get a paternity test for them in a couple of days. It should have the results in two days.”

She smiled. “Okay.”

I wonder what Amber will do when she sees the paternity test results.
