“She seemed claustrophobic. Just now, the elevator incident had her shaking, and her legs were weak. Go check her out!” Sebastian ordered from above, his tone leaving no room for argument.

Julian raised an eyebrow, eyes practically asking silently who exactly Sebastian was ordering around.

“What are you just standing there for? Or do you only sit around and not actually see patients?” Sebastian pressed.

Julian swore quietly in his head.

He pushed up the gold–rimmed glasses on his nose and cleared his throat. “Name and age, please.”

Serena had been keeping her head down, bangs hiding her look, and Julian hadn’t recognized her right away. “Serena, 26.”

Julian snapped his gaze up, shock written all over his expression. That was when he realized the patient in the chair was Sebastian’s future niece–in–law.

He narrowed his eyes, giving Sebastian, who stood nearby, a look loaded with meaning. “Could you step out? I need to speak w this patient alone.”

Lucinda knew the man inside was Julian, so she didn’t come in.

At that moment, Julian’s words were meant for only one person–Sebastian.

Sebastian shot him a cold glance, then his eyes softened as he looked at Serena in the chair. “You okay on your own?”

Serena gave a tiny nod and whispered, “Mm–hmm.”

Twenty minutes later, Julian stepped out with Serena.

Julian’s eyebrows drew together. Heh. Didn’t expect this girl to be here, too.

He looked at Sebastian. “Nothing serious. Just don’t let her end up in enclosed spaces again.”

“Mm.” Sebastian acknowledged.

“Tsk. Lucinda, you don’t even know how to greet people now?” Julian provoked.

Sebastian was only three years older than Julian, but he had the advantage of seniority, Julian and Lucinda were technically from the same generation.

Lucinda was clearly reluctant. She dragged out his name, and her tone was long and annoyed. “Julian.”

Julian’s eyelid twitched. He was about to say something back, but Sebastian cut in before the bickering coukl escalate

“Rena, are you still feeling unwell?”

Serena shook her head. “No. I’m fine now. I just want to go home.”

Afraid he might carry her again, Serena forced a small smile. “My legs aren’t weak anymore. I can walk on my own.”

Sebastian narrowed his eyes slightly. “Mm. I know. I wasn’t planning to carry you again. Let’s go.”

The others listened and could not quite put a finger on it, but something about the exchange felt off.

What a suffocating flirt, Julian cursed silently.

On the way home, Lucinda had a thousand questions she wanted to ask Serena. Unfortunately, Sebastian was in the car. She had no choice but to swallow them all. The moment they arrived, she reacted fast and jumped out with Serena. “Uncle Sebastian, I’ll stay with Rena tonight. You should head home first.”

Sebastian frowned without thinking. “Don’t pester her. Get some rest early.”

The black Maybach did not return to the residence. Instead, it turned back and stopped downstairs at the Levine Studios office building.

That night, Trevor stayed at Amber’s apartment for hours, calming her down before finally going home. The moment he walked in, he saw Nathan sitting on the couch.
