Broken Vows and Buried Twins novel Chapter 168

"Julian, what are you doing?!"

Seraphina gasped, immediately rushing over to Julian. She tipped her tear-stained face up to him, her voice frantic with worry.

"Didn't you promise me you wouldn't fight with Hester anymore? This was all my fault. I'm the one who can't control my emotions, and I'm the one constantly stressing Caden out. It's my problem. Hester is pregnant right now, and as her husband, you need to be supportive! How can you keep yelling at her like this?"

Julian's face was a mask of dark fury. "Seraphina, you don't need to speak for her. This is between us."

"But why can't you two just talk things out? Hester is carrying your child.

"Julian, please listen to me. Apologize to Hester. I was incredibly thoughtless when it came to Caden. Every time I think I can handle things, I end up ruining everything. Even if Hester didn't point it out, I know it deep down. Hester is just incredibly straightforward, and honestly, I'm grateful she spoke up. It just proves how much she genuinely cares for Caden."

Seraphina lowered her head, reaching up to wipe her tears. "It's better this way. As long as I know Caden is happy, I can find peace. It doesn't matter if he wants to call me Mom or not. As long as he grows up happy and healthy, even if I never get to see him again... I can live with that..."

"Seraphina, stop talking nonsense."

Julian's brows locked together, his tone authoritative and heavy. "You are his biological mother. That is an undeniable fact. Caden is just young, and the trauma from his recent injuries has messed with his memory. Give him some time, and he will eventually accept you."

Hearing Julian's words, Seraphina finally broke down completely, burying her face in her hands and sobbing aloud.

Seeing her state, Celeste immediately rushed forward with tissues, comforting her loudly. "Oh, Seraphina, you've been so terribly wronged! But Mr. Weston is absolutely right. You are the boy's biological mother, and no one can change that. The young master is just too little to understand right now. When he's older, he'll realize that a child's true mother is the only one who will ever love them unconditionally."

As she spoke, Celeste shot a petty, triumphant glare right at Hester.

The two of them were putting on an absolutely flawless, perfectly synchronized performance.

Hester let out a sharp, mocking scoff. She stood up and fixed her gaze directly on Julian.
