At 11:00 AM, Julian wrapped up a high-level executive meeting. The moment he stepped out of the boardroom, Neil approached him and lowered his voice. "Mrs. Weston is here."
Julian paused. "Where?"
"In your office."
Julian raised an eyebrow in surprise. Ever since their explosive fight that ended with him walking out, he had immediately flown overseas on business. During that entire trip, Hester hadn't called him a single time.
Historically, whenever they fought, she would eventually call and beg him to come home. This was the first time Hester had actively sought him out at corporate headquarters.
"How... is she doing?" Julian asked, hesitating slightly.
Neil thought back to how Hester looked when she walked in. "She seemed great, actually!"
Because she had a fresh haircut and her makeup was flawless. She looked beautiful!
Hearing this, the tight knot between Julian's brows finally relaxed. It seemed Hester had finally thought things through. She was here to make peace. She loved him far too much. Back in the day, she had defied her own family's wishes to be with him when everyone else thought he was a lost cause. She could never actually go through with a divorce!
A faint, arrogant smirk tugged at the corner of Julian's mouth.
"Understood," Julian said, his voice dropping back to its usual authoritative baritone, his face resuming its stoic mask. "Send someone across the street to get that sea salt cake she loves."
Neil nodded. "Right away, sir."
The heavy double doors of the CEO's office pushed open, and Julian strode in, looking impeccable in his custom-tailored suit. Hester was sitting on the leather sofa. When she saw him, she slowly stood up, her bloodshot eyes locking onto his face.
Julian was momentarily taken aback by her dramatic haircut. "Why did you chop off your hair?"
