Hester knew Chiara must have gone to a lot of trouble to secure those luxury supplements for her.
Chiara cut right to the chase. "What is the exact situation between you and Julian right now?"
"We're just roommates legally bound by paper," Hester replied, her tone completely neutral. "Once the baby is born, we sign the divorce papers. That's it."
Chiara pressed her lips together, studying Hester's face for any hidden cracks. But Hester was terrifyingly calm. There wasn't a single ripple of emotion when she spoke about the end of her marriage.
Chiara let out a long sigh. "I can't believe both of us fell so hard the first time, only for everything to completely implode."
Hester smiled softly. "It's fine. I'm still young. Once the baby is here, I'll have all the time in the world to love myself and my child."
"I know you're fully capable of handling yourself, but that baby is still half Weston. Aren't you worried he'll drag you through hell for custody?"
"We signed a legally binding agreement. Before the child turns three, I get full custody. After three, if he wants to fight me for it in court, he can try his luck."
"Alright, as long as you've got a solid plan." Chiara picked up her hot coffee and took a sip.
Setting the ceramic cup down, she met Hester's eyes. "If you need anything—and I mean anything—you call me. Understand?"
Hester's smile reached her eyes. "I will, Chiara."
"I can't stay in town for long anyway. I have an upcoming documentary project shooting out at Jewel Peak focusing on intangible cultural heritage. It's got serious award potential. The only problem is the network wants a trending cultural influencer attached to the project to guarantee an immediate audience pull."
"Do you have someone in mind?" Hester asked.
"Have you seen that new influencer making the rounds online? Goes by the name 'Thrice'?"
Thrice?
Hester searched her memory, and it clicked.
"I scrolled past one of her videos a while ago. She had around five million followers back then, right?"
"She's way past that now. She's about to hit ten million. She started the account last year and was barely making a dent until she dropped this one cultural heritage video. It's wildly atmospheric, beautifully shot, and the editing is absolutely masterful. You can tell immediately that she's incredibly talented. Hold on, let me pull it up. This is the exact video that sent her channel into the stratosphere..."
