Hester opened her door and walked out.
In the living room, Poppy was curled up on the sofa playing a game on her phone. Hearing the door open, she turned her head.
"You're awake!"
"Yeah," Hester walked over, feeling a bit guilty. "Sorry, I slept straight through. Have you eaten yet? My treat—what do you want?"
"No need! Chiara called this afternoon. When I told her you were asleep, she said not to wake you. She told me to just call room service when you woke up, and they'd bring food right up."
Hearing that, Hester didn't press the issue.
Chiara really had thought of everything.
That night, Hester and Poppy stayed in the hotel.
After dinner, they curled up on the sofa, watched a movie, and then headed to their respective rooms to sleep.
The next day, after breakfast, the two of them headed out.
Poppy had done her research, so the private chauffeur drove them around to several of Riverton's famous tourist spots.
When evening fell, Poppy took Hester to a popular pedestrian street right next to the university district.
As night settled in, the street came alive with bustling crowds and endless rows of food stalls.
Hester and Poppy walked side by side. Because it was so crowded, Hester instinctively kept one hand resting protectively over her stomach.
Poppy excitedly pointed out all the different local snacks.
Since they hadn't had dinner yet, Poppy suggested they try this amazing noodle place she knew about.
Hester was completely sold. They navigated the long, packed street until they finally reached the small restaurant.
