Broken Vows and Buried Twins novel Chapter 233

"Yes, it's very hard for her. So, Caden, whatever you do, please don't be like your dad, okay?"

Caden didn't fully grasp the meaning, but he knew one thing: he didn't want his godmother to have a hard time. He just wanted her to be happy.

Suddenly, he stepped forward, grabbing Jasper's hand and staring up at him with wide, earnest eyes. "Mr. Kane, I don't want her to be sad or tired. Can you teach me what I'm supposed to do?"

...

Back in her room, Hester didn't go to sleep.

Instead, she called Chiara to finalize the schedule for their upcoming shoot.

After wrapping up work matters, the conversation inevitably drifted to Seraphina.

"I saw all those nasty hate threads targeting you online yesterday," Chiara said. "I was going to call you, but Julian reached out first. He said he would handle it, so I figured I shouldn't interfere. If he's stepping in, there's nothing he can't fix."

"The only reason he's being so proactive is that I'm still legally his wife," Hester replied evenly. "My reputation directly impacts Weston Corp. Besides, Seraphina probably called him crying about it."

"Seraphina called him?" Chiara scoffed. "Since when does she have a conscience?"

"It's just her usual manipulation tactics." Hester sat by the window, idly flipping through a book. "Honestly, I couldn't care less about the online trolls. What actually matters to me is the fact that Seraphina is 'Thrice.'"

"We can't let a fraud get away with that," Chiara said, her voice dropping into a serious, protective tone. "No way. I'm calling an emergency meeting with my team right now. Don't worry, I know you want to keep your identity under wraps. We'll figure out a counter-strategy that protects you."

"Hold on, Chiara. There's no need to rush." Hester gazed out the window, a dangerous calm settling over her. "Since she's so eager to step into the spotlight with my stolen work, I don't mind playing a little game with her."

"Do you have a plan?"

"Yes." Hester closed her book, a faint, sharp smile playing on her lips. "Since she's so greedy and never knows when to quit, let's give her exactly what she wants. Let's push her popularity through the roof. We'll elevate her to the very top, let her fully taste what it feels like to be a winner."

Chiara instantly understood. She let out a sharp laugh. "I love it. Consider it done. I'll have the entire team coordinate with your moves."
