Sabrina refused to believe it, which was why she insisted on riding shotgun as Hester drove them straight to Silverstream Villa. The white Panamera was parked in the exact same spot as the day before.
Sitting in the passenger seat, Sabrina stared wide-eyed at the sprawling luxury estate in front of them. "This architecture isn't just 'similar' to your marital home. It's a one-to-one replica."
The moment the words left her mouth, she regretted them, clapping a hand over her lips and glancing nervously at her friend.
Hester's face remained utterly impassive as she stared out the window. "The law is very clear on this. Knowingly cohabiting and presenting yourselves as husband and wife while legally married constitutes grounds for a massive lawsuit. I'm not just going to strip Julian of his assets. I'm going to sue Melody. I want them both publicly ruined."
"You've certainly done your homework on divorce law..." Sabrina muttered, taking in Hester's icy resolve. "But Hester, you need concrete evidence that they're actually living together."
"That won't be hard. The evidence is sitting right in front of us," Hester replied, her voice dropping a few degrees.
Sabrina still looked conflicted. "Maybe this is a huge misunderstanding? Mr. Weston can be a little cold, sure, but he treats you well. I just can't see him doing something like this..."
"Sabrina." Hester turned to look at her friend. "Before yesterday, I would have said the exact same thing. I knew Julian was emotionally distant, but I loved him. I chose to marry him. So during these five years of grieving my children, even when I could feel his irritation with my depression, I never blamed him."
"I looked inward. I blamed myself. I worked relentlessly to get better. Never in my wildest nightmares did I imagine that while I was miscarrying my twins, he was already having a child with Melody."
What an unbelievably picture-perfect family!
Hester stopped the recording and saved the video. She slowly rolled the window back up and turned to Sabrina, a self-deprecating smirk tugging at the corner of her mouth. "Do you still think this is a misunderstanding?"
Tears were already streaming down Sabrina's face. "How could he do this? I know yours was a business marriage at first, but he spent a fortune on the wedding. The custom gown, the imported rings... everyone always said that after chasing him for years, you finally got your fairy tale..."
She was right. Even if her marriage to Julian Weston hadn't started with burning passion, it had always been respectful and harmonious. No one in their right mind would have ever suspected him of infidelity.
