SpicyBurger: Looks like things are going pretty well on your end. You even got a pet now. Over here, I’m barely seeing anything alive.

SpicyBurger: Don’t stress about that plant, by the way. It’s obviously healthymaybe your camp level’s still low and the soil isn’t nutrientrich enough. You want me to trade you some fertilizer?

TartKing: All good, boss. I’m pretty much selfsufficient now, got enough fertilizer stocked up. If I need anything, I’ll definitely reach out for a trade.

SpicyBurger: Oh, and keep leveling up. Make more of those buff desserts. Pineapple Beer mentioned there might be a server merge in a few days, followed by another dungeon run. We’re gonna need your cakes to keep everyone going.

TartKing: You got it, boss! Right now, I’m doing nothing but baking. After that last dungeon run with you, I leveled up quite a bit. Put my points into stats, and honestlygathering resources feels way easier now.

Reading through the exchange, Riley felt a wave of relief.

Once she closed the chat window, she remembered another blueprint she’d picked up from a trade earlier.

Blueprint: Automatic Feeder

Crafting Requirements: Refined Iron ×5, Electronic Component x1

Riley headed straight to her workbench and put it together in no time.

The finished device looked something like a water dispenser, with a wide tray attached to the bottom.

What made it special was its core function-Spatial Link.

She placed the feeder in a corner of her dining table, then accessed the control panel to establish the link.

Link successful.

Current linked container: Player Inventory/Slot 3

Riley decided to test it. She placed a piece of jerky into the third slot of her inventory.

Back home, the feeder lit up with a soft green glow, and the jerky materialized right in the food tray.

Riley’s eyes brightened.

This meant that even if she was out exploring for days, she could still feed her companion from anywhereas long as she had supplies in her inventory.

Guess technology really does change life, she thought to herself.

After taking care of that, Riley pulled out the Damaged Mechanical Core (Purple).

The object resembled a complex metallic puzzle cube, its surface webbed with cracks. A faint blue light seeped out from within.

She spent some time tinkering with it using a screwdriver and a multimeter, but soon enough, system notices popped up.

System Notice: Your Mechanics skill is insufficient. Unable to analyze this item’s structure.

System Notice: You appear to be missing a key charging medium.

Alright, guess my level’s still too low for this,Riley muttered.

She didn’t force it. Instead, she tucked the core into a storage box near her bed, letting it gather dust for the time being. It was a purpletier epic itemshe’d find a use for it eventually.

A glance at the time told her it was almost noon.

Today’s plan was to mine more coal. She’d already built up a decent stockpile, but with the server merge on the horizon, you could never have too much of a solid currency.

So, the girl and her bear set out once more for the mining site.

Meanwhile, in another part of the wastelanddeep within a shadowy ice valley, who knew how many miles from Riley’s territory.

No sunlight ever reached this place. A heavy, gray mist hung over everything, stubborn and perpetual.

And there, nestled in the depths of the valley, stood a camp built unlike any other.

While most survivors made do with shelters cobbled together from wood and scrap, these walls were welded from dark metal plates, studded with spikes and barbs.

At the center of the camp rose a sharp black spire, piercing upward into the fog. At its peak, a ghostly green flame burned without sound.

This was the stronghold of Nightfall, the guild leader’s personal base.

Inside one of the camp’s broader chambers, the air felt thick and heavy.

Useless!

The roar echoed through the room, making the candle flames shudder violently.

Seated at the head of the hall was a figure shrouded entirely in a black cloak. A white mask covered his face, painted with a stiff, unsettling smileonly a pair of sharp, calculating eyes visible behind it.
