Chapter 254 The Strange Subspace
“Just use them while we got them. Nobody ever complains about having too much inventory space.”

A flash of light flickered. Riley pulled up her status panel-and saw two extra rows added to her inventory. The extra space felt incredibly satisfying.
She no longer needed to carry her Scavenger’s Pack of Greed that never cut down weight burden whenever she headed out.
“We’ve got one card left.”
Riley held the last remaining card in her hand. “PineappleBeer, you can have this last one. You’re always traveling far away, so you definitely need the extra slots.”
Riley hit the nail on the head. Thanks to her special survival tent, PineappleBeer often went out treasure hunting for several days straight, and her inventory was always tight.
Tartking nodded repeatedly. “Yeah, I don’t mind at all. I barely leave the camp, and I never go far. When I run dungeons, each dessert only takes one slot, so my inventory is totally fine.”
Riley slapped her forehead. “Right, you always carry snacks. Are you really sure you’ve got enough space? Now I kinda think I should give it to you instead.”
TartKing waved her hands quickly. “I’m good, Burger. Seriously. I’ll speak up if I ever run out of space.”
“Alright, that’s the distribution for now. Next time we get expansion cards, you get priority.”
“Sweet!”
After sorting out the inventory cards, the three girls moved on to check the remaining rewards.
Two cards shimmered with mysterious silvery-gray light.
[Random Space Card (Special Item)×2]
[Description: Generates an independent subspace attached to the main world after activation. The subspace has a ranciom environment and random size. Boasting extreme stability, it can be used as a plantation, storage warehouse or secret hideout.]
“A subspace?”
Riley picked up the card and glanced at PineappleBeer. “Have you ever seen this item before?”
PineappleBeer frowned and thought for a long time, then shook her head. “Never… From what I remember, even a platinum chest counts as a pretty rare reward.
“We’re advancing way too fast. The butterfly effect must’ve forced the game system to release high-tier items early to balance the difficulty… Or it’s just a reward for us being the first to clear the event.”
Riley muttered thoughtfully, “Since none of us know what it does, we might as well test it. We’ve got two cards anyway.”
“Right here?” PineappleBeer glanced around the camp.
“Let’s go to the yard. Subspace sounds intimidating. I don’t wanna break my fancy villa” Riley chuckled.

Riley stowed the leftover light orbs, stood up, and walked outside with the cards in hand.
She headed for the empty yard Zone, an area reserved for future camp expansion.
Holding the card, she pulled up the game system interface.
“Activate!”

The card in her hand turned into a stream of light shooting toward the sky. Right after that, a construction animation similar to building structures popped up.
Countless hexagonal light patterns wove and assembled right in front of them.
It only took a few seconds.
A delicate building materialized on the snowy ground.
It was a hemispherical glass dome roughly three yards in diameter. It was made of transparent hexagonal crystals, and it looked like half a giant soccer ball pressed into the snow. Pale blue energy liquid flowed through the gaps between the crystals.
“Wow… It’s gorgeous.” TartKing gasped. “It looks like a crystal ball!”
“This is the subspace?” Riley circled the glass dome once. “It doesn’t look big. Probably 40 to 50 square feet.”
Through the transparent crystal walls, the interior was completely empty. A circle of white plant racks lined the inner walls, with several empty flower pots placed on top. On the wall directly facing the entrance stood a huge floor mirror.
The mirror surface was not ordinary glass. Instead, it was a swirling dark gray vortex that looked ethereal and mysterious. The brass mirror frame was carved with intricate patterns.
Riley stepped forward and walked up to the glass dome.
The door had an automatic sensor. It slid open with a faint hiss as she drew near.
“I’ll go in first to take a look,” Riley said.
“Be careful. Back out immediately if anything goes wrong. I’ll cover you at the door.” PineappleBeer reminded her. “This is a reward item, but we can never be too cautious in the apocalypse.”
“Got it.”
Riley nodded and stepped into the glass dome.
