If it had been a blueprint she could work from at her crafting bench, Riley might’ve been able to make something with wild specs- like Half Energy Drain or Auto Stamina Regeneration.
The finished piece was decent, but its potential felt capped.
“Can’t get too greedy,” she reminded herself.
She pulled the knee guards on over her work pants. Immediately, a light, springy sensation wrapped around her legs, making even walking feel effortless.
Her stats ticked upward once more.
“Strength: 27
“Agility: 15 (+2)
“Constitution: 16 (+3)”

Riley gave her thighs a satisfied pat.
After organizing her gear, she looked over the supplies spread across the table, then checked her inventory.
“Inventory Capacity: 30/30 (Full)”
Even after upgrading it before, with all the exploring she’d been doing, the variety of stuff just piled up–ores, crafting materials, blueprints, food, potions. These days, she had to seriously think twice just to squeeze in an apple.
“Time for an inventory clean–out.”
Riley got up and stepped out of the main cabin.
She walked to the middle of the yard, near the newly upgraded Basic Elemental Altar.
The old storage chest sat right beside it.
Riley popped it open and dumped in everything she didn’t need to carry on her.
After closing the lid, she turned to head back inside–then paused.
She glanced back at that lone wooden chest sitting exposed next to the altar.
The camp’s territory had expanded to a 100–foot radius now. Sure, there was a stone wall around it, but the chest was still out in the open.
What if–and she truly meant what if–sooner or later some flying beast swooped down, or a cunning player from Nightfall made a move, using specialized gear to climb over the walls?
Wouldn’t everything in that chest be free for the taking?
“Nope. That’s way too risky.”

Riley pulled up the Camp Management Interface again.
God’s–eye view, activated.
“Move.”
She selected the bulky storage chest.
The heavy crate lifted smoothly off the ground as if weightless.

Riley shifted it like a building block, phased it straight through the cabin wall, and placed it right beside the headboard of her bed in the main cabin’s bedroom.
“Thud.”
The chest settled into place.
Riley hurried back inside to check.
There it was, packed full, right next to her wide bed.
Lying down, she could literally reach out and touch everything she owned.
“Now it feels right.”
Riley patted the lid, a faint, content smirk on her face.
In the apocalypse, sleeping right next to your stockpile was the only way to feel truly secure.
Standing in the brand–new main cabin’s living room, Riley still felt like something was…missing.
The Level 4 upgrade was almost too good. The 400–square–foot main building, with its high, peaked ceiling, made the whole space feel wide open and kinda empty.
“Could use some decor.”
Riley rubbed her chin and opened the Build/Decorate menu.
After the upgrade, a bunch of new blueprints had unlocked. Things like Vintage Wall Sconce, Wool Area Rug, Hardwood Bookshelf…
There was even a Decorative Fountain?
“Maybe not the fountain. Even if the camp’s climate control keeps it from freezing, tossing a fountain in now would just feel out of place. Next time, I should try to gather some flower and herb seeds–build it inside a garden enclosure instead.”
Riley’s eyes finally landed on a structure that was seriously practical.
“Facility: Advanced Planting Bed (Large)
“Requirements: Refined Stone Brick x50, Quality Wood x20, Fertilizer *10
“Description: No more small experimental plots. This is the real deal for sustainable farming. Built–in climate control and drainage. Supports mixed planting of multiple crops.” D

“This is the one.”
Food came first.
Riley walked outside and over to the previous wheat patch.
“Build.”
Materials deducted, the ground trembled lightly.
A long rectangular planting bed framed in stone rose up about 25 feet long and 12 feet wide. It looked nothing like the flimsy starter box from before. The edges were wrapped in smooth, treated timber, giving it a solid, sturdy feet.
Using the system’s edit mode, Riley carefully transferred the already–sprouted wheat from the old test plot into the new bed. Then she took out the Mystery Crop Seed Pack she’d gotten as a system reward.
“Potatoes… plant those along the edges.
“Strawberries. These fragile ones go in the center.
“Coffee beans…”
Riley stared at the dark brown beans, her eyes practically gleaming.
If she could grow a coffee shrub, then a hot Americano every morning… just the thought made the future seem a little brighter.
Once the planting was done, she draped a thick insulating cover over the bed and plugged it in.
Under the soft purple glow of the grow lights, that patch of soil brimmed with green life–a stark contrast to the dead, white world beyond the walls.
“Whew…”
Riley brushed the dirt from her hands. Before she could admire the view for long, she noticed the sky outside deepening into dusk.
Night was falling.
“Uuugh… grrooooan…”
Right on cue, the familiar moans crept in from beyond the walls. But tonight, they sounded duller than usual, and way more
numerous.
Riley’s brow furrowed.
She walked over to the section of wall beside the main gate and listened.
