Adriana drew in a breath and grabbed Yolanda’s hand without thinking.

“Yolanda, I need a favor,” she whispered.

Adriana kept her eyes on Lily, who had just walked off with Denton. Her voice dropped. “That girl might be HIV–positive. Savannah’s the one who introduced her to Denton. And today, Denton suddenly brought up being old enough to get married. It’s making me nervous.”

Yolanda’s breath caught. She froze for a second. “She has HIV…”

“It’s just a suspicion. We don’t have proof yet. But Savannah’s twisted. I wouldn’t put it past her to set Denton up,” Adriana said, her tone sharp.

Yolanda swallowed and gave a tight nod. “If that girl really has HIV, that’s not just dangerous. That’s evil. They’re trying to destroy him.”

“I think Savannah’s pushing Denton out of that hotel to trap him. Lily’s bait. The girl’s a dancer, she’s stunning, and guys like Denton fall for that in a heartbeat,” Adriana said as her eyes narrowed. “We can’t let him get attached. We have to break it up.”

Yolanda frowned. “Break it how?”

“Denton’s still green. He doesn’t know what love is. He doesn’t know what’s real or fake. We need to guide him. We can’t let him just fall into something stupid,” Adriana said as she grabbed Yolanda’s hand. “I can’t get too close or Savannah’ll get suspicious. But you can. Watch him for me. Keep feeding him all the safety talk.”

Yolanda’s brow twitched, but she nodded. “Alright. I’ve got it.” Denton’s health was clearly at

risk.

She narrowed her eyes. She wasn’t good at chasing boys, but if it was sabotage, she was top tier.

Denton and Lily barely reached the front gate before Yolanda caught up.

“Denton, Ms. Feron said we’re grabbing drinks tonight. You should come,” Lily said, flashing a sweet smile.

Before he could fumble a reply, Yolanda stepped in like a missile and threw her arm over his shoulder.

She leaned close and smirked. “Where we headed, baby boy?”

It was the first time she’d ever touched him. Denton’s face turned bright red. He stammered, “Y–Yolanda … we were gonna grab food.”

Lily shot Yolanda a cautious look. Her instincts were screaming. This girl was a threat.

“Adriana’s off with Curtis, and I didn’t wanna tag along. That’s boring. Take me instead,” Yolanda said as she clung to Denton’s side.

Denton nodded so fast it looked like panic.

The driver pulled up. Before anyone could move, Yolanda opened the front passenger door. “You’re Denton’s guest. You ride up front. I’ll sit in the back with him.”

Lily glanced at Denton with wide eyes. She clearly wanted the backseat to try and get closer with him.

Denton looked at her like he didn’t notice anything. “Yeah, Lily. You should ride up front. Yo won’t get carsick that way, trust me.”

Lily’s expression stiffened. It was like her signals were bouncing off a wall. She had no choice but to sit in the front.

Before climbing in, Yolanda turned back and gave Adriana a wink. Adriana grinned and gave her a big thumbs–up.

Only Yolanda could teach Denton that you don’t just go running off to hotel rooms with some random girl.

Up ahead, Curtis was waiting in his car. Adriana ran over, glowing.

“Huh. Where’s your partner in crime today?” Curtis asked. Yolanda usually waited until Adriana got in before leaving.

“I gave her a mission,” Adriana said, her voice light. “Savannah’s playing dirty. She sent some girl after Denton. We think the girl might be HIV positive.”

Curtis‘ face turned cold. These people were out of their minds. All this just to take over the Lincoln Group after he was gone?

He didn’t say anything the whole ride. Denton’s situation wasn’t much better than his.
