Curtis scoffed. “Go hire a priest and perform some ritual or whatever. Curse him to death.”

Ronan nearly choked on the water he was drinking. “Mr. Lincoln… Silas is basically from your grand–uncle’s generation. His seniority matters.”

Ronan truly knew how to hit a sore spot.

Silas‘ standing within the Harrisons was not especially high, but for Curtis it still mattered.

If Curtis‘ mother were still alive, she would have had to address Silas as her senior as well.

Curtis shot Ronan a sharp glare. Ronan instantly fell silent.

Curtis‘ phone rang just then. The screen showed Adriana’s name.

Curtis grabbed the phone immediately and answered without delay. “Honey.”

His expression softened instantly.

Ronan smirked in disbelief. That change came faster than turning a page.

“Curtis, are you free tonight? I need to talk to you,” Adriana said, still thinking it was better not to discuss it on the phone. It would be easier to sort things out face to face.

“Sure. I’ll wait for you at the usual place tonight.”

The usual place was their private apartment in Haldoria, a unit on Straits Quay Island inside a complex developed by Ainsworth Group. It was extremely secure, with no outsiders allowed and no chance of anyone following Adriana there.
