Chapter 412 The Hidden Harrison
Chapter 412 The Hidden Harrison
Adriana was stunned for a moment, then slowly exhaled.
Good. That meant there were still other Harrisons who could be suspects.

Fate could not be so cruel to Curtis. To brand a child with the accusation of killing his own mother, to give him a terrible father, and if even his grandfather turned out to be the murderer…
How badly would that break him inside?
“Besides Silas, are there other illegitimate children in the Harrisons?” Adriana asked cautiously.
That family truly sounded chaotic.
“Not illegitimate,” Curtis replied. He looked slightly helpless, as if he did not want to discuss it.
Adriana blinked. Curtis had rarely spoken to her about the Harrisons before.
All she knew was that Curtis‘ mother died because of mental illness, a woman whose broken mind forced her own young son to end her life.
“I used to believe mental illness wasn’t hereditary, but the Harrisons… many of them are not exactly stable,” Curtis said wearily. His eyes rested on Adriana with caution. “Back then, people at Lincoln Group kept attacking me, calling me insane and saying I was a psycho. You remember that, right?”
Adriana nodded in response.
Because he had been labeled his mother’s killer at such a young age, the rumors slowly twisted him into a madman in people’s
eyes.
Harold had fought hard to protect him and later sent Curtis away to the Lincoln Estate in Govendale. That was where Curtis and Adriana first met.
“Because my mother was a Harrison, and the Harrisons… they have a lot of mental problems.” Curtis coughed lightly. “Samuel suffered from bipolar disorder when he was younger. Sometimes he completely lost control. At first the family wanted to abandon him. Once he turned 18, they made sure he produced an heir first, which was my grandfather.”
Adriana nodded again.
“When my grandfather was born, he actually had a twin brother, identical twins who looked nearly the same. But the older one showed signs of inheriting their father’s violent temper by the age of four. He enjoyed destroying things and torturing small animals. Later, at 16, after he assaulted a schoolgirl, the Harrisons completely disowned him. They claimed he was locked away in a sanatorium owned by the Harrisons. After that, the family tried to erase the fact that another son existed. So outsiders believed my grandfather, Jace Harrison, was the Harrisons‘ only heir.”
Adriana was shocked.
Curtis‘ grandfather actually had a brother.
And he had supposedly been locked inside a sanatorium all this time.
Locked away from 16 until now? That hardly sounded believable.

“I understand. Tomorrow I’ll personally visit the Harrison sanatorium. I’ll check whether my grandfather’s brother is still there. If he escaped long ago, then maybe the one who has been secretly plotting against the Harrisons, the Lincolns, and the Bartons is very likely that unstable great–uncle.” Adriana carefully pieced the clues together. The Harrison bloodline truly sounded frightening.
“Adriana…” Curtis buried his face against the curve of her neck. “Don’t be afraid of me. I’m not violent.”
She laughed softly. So that was what he feared, that she would see him differently after hearing this story.
“From what I’ve investigated, your mom wasn’t born with mental illness. It seems more like someone deliberately harmed her and pushed her over the edge. Clearly she was set up. Your mom and your grandfather didn’t have mental illness. And you definitely didn’t inherit that gene.” Adriana held his face gently between her hands. “You can’t even bring yourself to raise your voice at me when you’re angry. There’s no way you’re wired for violence.”
Curtis looked at her and smiled, warmth spreading through him from deep inside.
He understood clearly that without Adriana, he might have ended up like his mother. Even without a diagnosis, the world would have driven him insane.
Fortunately, he met Adriana. She had become his cure.
