He was so angry he could have spit ink. He fought back furiously in the comments, but it had little effect.
Hearing Everett mention her son's betrayal, Natalie's expression turned somber.
"He doesn't want to be with me anyway."
Then Natalie turned to Lucas and Liana. "Mr. Kingsley is my good friend. He wasn't scolding me. I gave him a very difficult task, and he was just frustrated. You two kicked him, so you need to apologize."
At that, Liana bowed to Everett Kingsley in apology. Lucas said, "Sorry, Mr. Kingsley. We thought you were bullying Natalie. You can kick me back if you want."
Lucas then turned his rear toward Everett, offering it up as payback.
Everett laughed. "Well, that little butt is quite kickable. But this little girl is so adorable. They have the same face, so why is the girl so cute while the boy looks so goofy?"
Goofy?
Lucas was indignant. How dare he call him goofy?
"Who are you calling goofy?"
Natalie was speechless. Why did Everett have to be so brutally honest? She quickly interjected, "Mr. Kingsley, your eyesight must be getting worse. How is Lucas goofy? He's so handsome. You're getting older, your vision is failing. Should I write you a prescription? To help clear up your sight."
Natalie winked at Everett. Kids have their pride, after all.
Everett played along. "You know, my eyes have been a bit blurry lately. Maybe I should get a couple of doses of that medicine."
That pacified Lucas. Just then, Everett noticed Terence Lockwood in the wheelchair.
Just as Everett was handing the medicine to Natalie, someone burst in and snatched it away.
It was Victoria.
Everett exploded, "I've seen people rob banks and jewelers, but I've never seen anyone rob an apothecary! Are you too cheap to die properly?"
Victoria was so incensed by the retort she nearly choked.
"You shut up! This is none of your business." She glared viciously at Natalie, then at the herbs in her hand. She had overheard them saying these herbs were precious and couldn't be bought with money.
So these were the precious herbs Natalie had been hiding from her.
"Give me back my medicine!" Natalie demanded.

Time for Marie to get her end, this has gone on way too long, time to move on. It’s getting boring....
Payback time. Waiting for chapters 321 onwards!...
I love the sarcastic comebacks. Quite amusing!...
