"Your daddy's leg requires a very special herb. I placed an order some time ago, and the shopkeeper told me yesterday it would arrive today. We're going to pick it up."
"Natalie, are you saying you're going to treat Daddy's leg?" Lucas asked, his voice filled with excitement. It would be amazing if his dad could stand again.
Terence had thought Natalie had given up, or perhaps no longer cared. He never expected that she was secretly preparing the materials for his treatment.
*That's wonderful! Natalie is going to treat Daddy's leg, and he can get better!* Liana signed happily.
Natalie stroked Liana's head. "Not only am I going to treat your daddy's leg, but I also want to hear Liana say my name."
*But Liana can't talk. Liana can't say Natalie,*
Liana looked sad. Natalie comforted her, "Liana, you can't speak because you're sick. And as it happens, my job is to cure sicknesses. I will work hard to cure you, and you have to work hard with me, okay?"
*Can you really cure me, Natalie?*
"The medicine for your condition is very bitter, and you're so little, I'm worried you won't be able to drink it. But can you try hard for me? If we work together, miracles can happen."
Liana had been diagnosed by doctors both at home and abroad; they all said she would never be able to speak in her lifetime.
Yet Natalie was saying she had a way to treat her.
Terence said in astonishment, "Are you serious? You have a way to make her speak?"
"Yes. A child as smart and lovely as Liana can't go her whole life without speaking. No matter how long it takes, I will make sure she can speak one day. Let's go get the medicine first."
...
Silverleaf Apothecary.
Everett Kingsley was basking in the glow of the compliment, but the next second, he felt a kick. He looked down. Where did these two kids come from?
"Where did you two pop out from? Why did you kick me?"
"Because you were being mean to Natalie," Lucas declared.
Everett looked at Natalie. "Whose kids are these? I remember your kid didn't look like this. But you can probably just get rid of that other one."
Everett had seen the news about Natalie's son publicly slandering her on TV, and it had made him furious.
He had been posting replies online, explaining that Natalie's son had been frail since childhood and was only healthy now because she had carefully nursed him with herbs. For him to turn around and bite the hand that fed him made him an ungrateful brat. He also mentioned how his mother-in-law had been paralyzed, and it was Natalie's herbal treatments that allowed her to walk again. Despite these huge contributions to the Cross family, they still called her a useless housewife. It drove Everett mad.
But his comments went against the tide of slander, and people online didn't believe him. They even accused him of being a paid troll hired by Natalie to speak well of her.

Time for Marie to get her end, this has gone on way too long, time to move on. It’s getting boring....
Payback time. Waiting for chapters 321 onwards!...
I love the sarcastic comebacks. Quite amusing!...
