"I admit, some of the medicinal meals she made were quite nourishing. They made me feel comfortable. But now that she's divorced my son, she's tampered with my prescription out of revenge, making it completely ineffective."
Everett Kingsley said angrily, "You reduce her treatment to simply 'making meals.' I didn't think it was possible, but you're even more shameless than I am."
"You…"
"Victoria," Natalie said calmly, "I would not tarnish my medical principles for someone like you."
Even if Natalie wanted revenge, she would never stoop to tampering with medicine. She had a code of ethics and wouldn't compromise it because of her.
"Of course you'd say that, you vicious woman."
Just then, Darren arrived. He had been following their car and saw them enter the Silverleaf Apothecary.
"Natalie, if you didn't tamper with the prescription, you should explain it nicely to Mom instead of using this tone. She's your elder."
An elder to her?
Lucas spoke up first. "She's *your* mom. Natalie is divorced. How can you be so thick-skinned?"
*That's right. Natalie has divorced you,*
Liana signed, sticking her tongue out at them.
Natalie looked at Darren scornfully. "Even a five-year-old understands this. Surely you're not that dense, Darren. You and I are divorced. Your mother is no elder of mine."
