Natalie frowned. What kind of man was this?
She shouldn't have gotten on his motorcycle. Now she was in a situation she couldn't easily get out of.
The speed was terrifying; it felt like her body was flying forward while her soul struggled to catch up.
She didn't dare provoke him, lest they both end up in a fiery crash.
Nicholas Fairchild found her lack of reaction boring.
Why did the old man set him up with such a dull person?
"Cat got your tongue? Scared silly?"
"My life is in your hands. What is there to say?"
Nicholas laughed. A moment ago, he'd thought she was boring.
Now, he found her a little interesting.
"Relax, I'm not going to sell you. I don't need the money. Where are you going? I'll give you a ride."
He was one of the world's top motorcycle racers. The money he'd get from selling her wouldn't even cover his motorcycle's maintenance.
"The Langya Retirement Home."
At the name, Nicholas immediately braked, bringing the motorcycle to a stop. "What are you going there for?"
"To volunteer."
Seeing that he had stopped, Natalie quickly dismounted and placed the helmet on the back seat. She wasn't going to miss an opportunity to escape.
"Why did you get off?"
"I'm going to the retirement home."
Natalie's gaze was clear. Nicholas nearly exploded with frustration.
"If you're going to the retirement home, why did you get off my motorcycle? Get back on."
"From your tone just now, you seem to have a problem with that place. I won't trouble you. I can get there myself."
Natalie gave a slight nod and started walking.
Nicholas instantly blocked her path. "I don't have a problem with retirement homes in general, just the Retirement Home. That bunch of old geezers are not good people!"
Nicholas's expression was grim. He would never forget how that group of old coots had tormented him.
