Rebecca cautioned, “Don’t you dare make a move. If you get involved, you’ll wipe out his entire family. That child, though a brat, is still Natalie’s son. We have to consider that. We need to leave that man for Natalie to deal with herself. Revenge is a dish best served cold.”
Keith slapped his thigh. “Becca, my dear, you’re right.”
“Oh, stop it,” Old Mr. Fairchild said with disgust. “You’re two years older than her. Stop trying to act young.”
“I like calling her Becca. What’s it to you?” Keith retorted defiantly.
“Stop bickering. That bastard can wait. I’ve received news that Natalie’s father recently lost a lot of money gambling and has been asking her for more. All of Natalie’s salary from the Lockwood family has gone to that useless father of hers, but it’s still not enough to cover his debts. I’m worried he’s going to cause trouble for her again and make her unhappy.”
Keith Wycliffe announced, “I’ve already had someone speak to the casinos. That gambler’s debts have been wiped clean. I also had his picture sent to every casino, big and small, with orders not to let him in. Anyone who lets him in can shut down their business.”
“Wycliffe, that was nicely done,” Old Mr. Fairchild said, offering a rare compliment.
“Of course.”
Keith beamed, puffing out his chest with pride.
“I’m surprised you know how to act like a decent human being.”
Keith was rendered speechless.
