Caught Him Cheating My Life Restarted (Natalie) novel Chapter 175

Mrs. Lockwood was absolutely furious.

"What kind of child is that? How can he be so cruel at such a young age? I won't let him get away with it. I'm going to find him and settle the score."

Mrs. Lockwood was about to storm off to find Hanley when Lucas stopped her.

"Grandma, you don't have to go. Natalie already stood up for Liana. She took out a needle just as long, pricked Hanley with it, and he couldn't speak anymore."

"You... you what? She stuck Hanley with a needle, and he couldn't talk?"

"Yeah, we saw it with our own eyes. After Natalie pricked him, Hanley couldn't speak."

Mrs. Lockwood was utterly shocked, not just because Natalie had made Hanley unable to speak with a needle, but because Hanley was Natalie's own son.

She had actually used a needle on her own son to silence him.

"Natalie said that if a mouth can only speak vicious words, then it's better not to speak at all."

A wave of astonishment washed over Mrs. Lockwood.

Terence's gaze grew deeper.

"Later, Hanley said he was willing to apologize to Liana, so Natalie pricked him again, and he could talk. Natalie explained to everyone that my sister's inability to speak isn't because she doesn't have a tongue. There are many, many reasons why someone might not be able to talk. The kids were all spellbound. They watched Natalie make Hanley talk and then not talk, like it was a magic trick.

"They were all so impressed with her, and all the kids accepted my sister. They don't mind that she can't speak anymore. You should have seen how happy Liana was."

Mrs. Lockwood felt a lump in her throat. Her granddaughter disliked preschool because she was afraid of the strange looks and the mockery.

But Natalie had somehow made the other children accept her, to stop seeing her as an outcast.

Perhaps the reason these two children trusted her so much was because she gave them a profound sense of security.

"Mom, Natalie is treating Liana right now. What do you need her for?"

"She's treating the child. Why is she hiding from you all? Is she a fraud?"

"Mom, I guarantee you, Natalie is definitely not a fraud. Her medical skills are excel—"

Mrs. Lockwood was cut off by a glare that made her heart tremble. The old matriarch's authority hadn't diminished one bit over the years.

"Who allowed Natalie to go to the Ravenfell Wing? Who gave her permission to touch the books inside?"

"Mom, if books aren't meant to be read, they're just dead objects. It's an honor for those medical texts that someone like Natalie appreciates them."

"Lucas is our great-grandson, a member of the Lockwood family, and I don't even let him go into the Ravenfell Wing. Who is Natalie to come and go as she pleases? What do you take the Lockwood family rules for?"

"Mom, please don't be angry. I know you don't let Lucas in because you're afraid he'll damage those precious books. But Natalie treasures those old texts and will protect them well. To help her concentrate on her research, I even set up a separate pharmacy for her next to the library."
