Caught Him Cheating My Life Restarted (Natalie) novel Chapter 225

Nicholas was mortified. He had previously tried every trick in the book to get Night Viper to come out of retirement and join his racing team. Now, here she was, standing right in front of him, and he was questioning her abilities.

“You were so earnest when you asked me to join your team back then,” Mrs. Lockwood said coolly. “And now you doubt my skills. Good thing I didn’t agree.”

Nicholas’s demeanor changed instantly.

“Night Viper, ma’am, I’m so sorry. I didn’t recognize you. I still hope you’ll come out of retirement and race with me.”

“I’m old and useless now, cast aside by you young folks.”

“Ma’am, who could have possibly guessed your identity?”

Natalie nodded in agreement beside them. It really was an impossible identity to guess.

Mrs. Lockwood looked at Natalie and said, “She was the one who heard the problem with your Pegasus’s engine. She has exceptional hearing. If she were willing to learn, her skills would surpass my own.”

Nicholas was shocked again. Natalie was the one who heard the engine trouble? He had sensed a subtle change in Pegasus, but his team couldn't find the source of the problem.

“Give it a try,” Mrs. Lockwood prompted.

Nicholas got on the bike and took it for a spin. It felt incredible.

“This is perfect! This is exactly the feeling I was missing!”

“Well, the bike is fixed. Consider my debt from the other day repaid. Goodbye.”

Mrs. Lockwood was about to lead Natalie away when Nicholas stopped them.

“You fixed Pegasus. At least let me repay you.”

Lucas and Liana each held one of Natalie’s hands, rubbing them anxiously.

“Natalie, don’t be nervous,” Lucas said. “My daddy said that no matter what place you get, the Lockwood family has your back. Don’t worry, just do your best.”

Liana signed, *Natalie, we’ll be with you. Don’t be scared.*

She was the one competing, but the two children seemed even more nervous than she was. They were rubbing her hands like two little polar bears, telling her not to be nervous. It seemed they were the ones who needed to calm down.

The Lockwood family driver watched the children in the rearview mirror, amused. He had never seen the young master so well-behaved. The boy was usually a little terror, but today he was being surprisingly warm and obedient.

Just then, Natalie’s phone rang. It was her mother. Her mom had left early that morning, and Natalie hadn’t seen her before leaving. She hadn’t answered her calls either. Natalie had assumed she was out shopping.

When Natalie answered, she was met with her mother’s terrified voice.
