“Natalie, you have to come quick! Come save your father! He’s been beaten unconscious by debt collectors! Please, hurry and save him!”

“What’s going on?”

Kate saw the men approaching with malicious intent and grew nervous. “You did this to Martin Doyle! Even if he owes you money, you can’t beat him to death! You’ll go to jail for this!”

The leader scoffed, “Paying debts is the law of the land. If he can’t pay with money, he’ll pay with his life. Or maybe you can pay for him.” His eyes slid to Natalie. “This young one is pretty. She’ll definitely fetch a good price.”

It was only then that Kate realized the danger they were in.
