Caught Him Cheating My Life Restarted (Natalie) novel Chapter 228

Martin was completely unapologetic, feeling no remorse for his actions.

Kate couldn’t take it anymore. She grabbed his collar, her voice seething with rage. “You know Natalie is being slandered right now, with everyone saying she cheated to get first place in the preliminaries. If you make her miss the finals, people will say she was too scared to compete, and even more will believe she cheated!”

“So what? She’s not going to the finals today, and that’s that.”

“You old bastard, how much did that person pay you?”

Natalie ignored Martin. She turned to Nicholas. “Can you get me to the finals?”

Nicholas looked at her with concern. “Are you okay? You look pale.”

Natalie quietly hid her injured right hand and looked up at him, her expression defiant. “I’m fine. Let’s go.”

Martin lunged forward to block her path. “You’re not going anywhere! If you don’t compete today, that person will give me five hundred thousand dollars. So you’re staying right here!”

Five hundred thousand dollars. He was willing to sell out his own daughter for that amount.

Nicholas fought to control his fury, afraid he would kick the man to death if he didn’t restrain himself.

Kate was furious. “Are you trying to ruin Natalie? You’ve hurt her more than once. Can’t you just leave her alone?”

“What do you know? I raised her. She owes me. If she skips this competition, I get 500,000 dollars. Think of all the things we could do with that kind of money, you brainless woman!”

After they were gone, Martin turned his anger on Kate. “You useless tramp! If you had held her back for just a little longer, that five hundred thousand would have been mine!”

Hearing him call her a tramp, Kate’s eyes widened and she began to tremble uncontrollably. “How could you do this to Natalie?” she stammered. “You knew about her finals today. You knew about all the online abuse she’s been facing. She needs this final to clear her name. Why are you trying to destroy her?”

“I raised her, didn’t I? Shouldn’t I get something in return? If she hadn’t competed, I’d have 500,000 dollars. We could use that for our retirement, can’t we?”

“Martin Doyle, you’ve gone too far!”

“Me? You moved into the Lockwood mansion with her. Did you think you could escape me? Have you ever once thought about what I’ve been eating all this time? Is this how a wife is supposed to act?”
