Caught Him Cheating My Life Restarted (Natalie) novel Chapter 262

At that moment, Natalie regretted ever saying that gender didn't matter to a doctor.

She could feel his warm breath on her neck, sending a fluttery sensation through her, like a tiny kitten scampering across her heart.

Her restless fidgeting didn't escape Terence's notice. His Adam's apple bobbed. Her faint, floral scent filled his senses, and he felt an overwhelming urge to pull her into himself.

Sensing the shift in him, from the movement in his throat to the predatory look in his eyes, Natalie grew anxious.

"That's enough for today," she said nervously. "I should go check on the children."

With that, she managed to break free from his grasp.

"I'm going to check if the kids... if they've kicked off their blankets."

She fled. Watching her retreating figure, a small smile played on Terence's lips. So much for gender not mattering. Then what was with her flushed, bright red earlobes?

Terence flicked the last silver needle, which struck the very center of the heart on the wall.

She couldn't escape. She was going to be his.

Natalie gently pushed open the door to Lucas and Liana's room. The children were asleep, and she had to be careful not to wake them.

She just wanted to see them to feel at ease.

But she didn't know that without her back, the two of them couldn't sleep at all.

Lucas was the first to hear the door creak open. It was probably Daddy again. If only it were Natalie.

"Daddy, we'll be good and go to sleep. You don't have to keep checking on us," Lucas mumbled.

Liana looked dejected, her wide, innocent eyes filled with disappointment.

Natalie had promised to continue her story tonight.

"Were you waiting because I promised to tell you a story?"

Lucas nodded. It was better than admitting he was worried she might get back together with her ex-husband. He didn't want to remind her of that man.

"We couldn't sleep because we didn't hear the end of the story yesterday. We missed you," Liana added, nodding emphatically and signing with her hands.

[Miss you, miss you.]

Then she put her small hands on top of her head and bent slightly, making a big heart shape with her arms.

Receiving so much affection from them filled Natalie with genuine happiness.

"Alright, you two, get back in bed, and I'll tell you the story. But next time, if I'm not here, you have to go to sleep, okay? Otherwise, I'll get upset. Kids are supposed to sleep early."

Although she was gently scolding them, seeing that they had stayed awake waiting for her gave Natalie a strange, indescribable feeling.
